Why is side eye a thing with so many action figures?

by so many you mean the ones mcfarlane makes? I really don't see this ever happening with other lines

I got to say the SHF look the best out of all of them. I expected the Kaiyodo to pose the best. If you want the best of both worlds, I'd go with Mafex. I own the SHF and the ML version, btw.
>>
>>10964935
SHF certainly does look the best from certain angles. Still the paint job and wacky hips are enough to where the mafex is starting to grow on me. I'm thinking the mafex will take the cake here, but I also already have the SHF and ML so idk if I want a third tobey spidey. Might have to sell the others.

Recently got my kid into speed racer. I forgot how good this show was. Looking online, I’m really surprised there is no good Speed and Mach 5 combo. It would be an instant buy if someone like Figma came out with a 1/12 combo. I bought a 1/18 scale die cast Mach 5 and hope to eventually commission a 1/18 scale Speed. Thanks for reading my blog. What other toys are you surprised don’t exist?

Those both look really good. The one I bought got to the house and I’m pretty happy with it. Got it for under a hundred. I’ll post pictures in a bit.

This is cool. It’s almost a mix of the Mach 5 and 6.

Thanks. This is a good recommendation. I remember Thunderbirds re-runs from when I was young, but I never got into it. Now with my kid is a perfect time to.

This time the one to hide them in the trunk will be Speed.
As pieces, before burying them in the middle of nowhere.

Hello,
I'm that Anon that posted last year those orange male and female 3D printed action figures. I redesigned everything to work with resin and improved a lot of stuff. I'm still in the experimenting phase which is why I made this Pikachu figure as a test run to see how well it prints for other people.

It will be released next week but now I want to know if anyone has any suggestions on how I might improve the figure. Expect an image dump.

I like it, OP, it reminds me of Toshiro Ono's art in The Electric Tale of Pikachu manga
He went off model and made them look more beast-like.
>>
>>10964184
No, even that Pikachu has more normal proportions. OP's figure just has incredibly long arms and legs that don't look anything like Pikachu's proportions

>>
I went to the Tamashii store in NYC today and good news boys, the kind Japanese staff member told me that SHFSS Kamen Rider weren't there yet. Her exact words were "いまはまだ", so be on the lookout... I didn't ask her if Kabuto and Hibiki were coming but this is indeed a good sign.
>>
Oh yeah, and I picked up SHF Zero-One while I was there. Honestly very impressed. These modern SHF are actually pretty freaking nice. I haven't compared him to my Gokai Red yet but he doesn't feel out of place I may start collecting normal line SHF alongside SHFSS

It is a perfectly decent shonen manga that had pretty good art, characters and action that decided to end before turning into a miserable zombie of a series like Naruto or BNHA.
There are definitely better options out there but it is fine for what it is especially when you consider that the main audience is in the 10-16 age bracket.
>>
>>10955402
When you shit out 200+ figures in a line a year you don't really have time to check for sculptors' errors.
>>

When I am wondering around a store that sells collectibles at discounts, like TJ Maxx or Ross, I don't even need to look at the boxes of the figures and lines I don't recognize immediately because it's not my wheelhouse to know when some of that crap is Todd garbage.

I'm mostly looking at these for fodder parts when they are dirt cheap (under $5) but once I looked up how minimally the body might articulate, it's easy to put the box down even if it a store decided to mark it down under $1!

And even the new things, like the last time I was at a large department store that had a full line of collectibles, I picked up one of the Dune boxes, only to be disappointed at how bad the likeness was (it was a potential present for a friend and I knew likeness would be a big deal for them), and saw how poorly made they looked FOR THE PRICE, it didn't shock me it was an MTS figure.

I feel bad for Godzilla and Monsterverse fans if this idiot has an actual contract with Legendary and this wasn't just a one-off because the idiots at Warner Consumer Products are lazy.
>>
No McFarlane has just come to understand that a budget kids figure doesn't need the same sculpt quality as a collector figure. The 5 inch Demon Slayer line is marketed to little Timmy not adults. The 7 inch figures are for adults and those are probably some of the best anime figures McFarlane has ever made.
>>
>>10963948
Gotta wonder if kids actually buy these though

Just like AI art and 3d printing, is really tempting for people to say "I made this" instead of "I pompt it" or "I print it"
Granted, using the hero forge tool requires a little bit of effort. But just a little

The buzzmod is kinda okay. Not perfect, but acceptable. I just didn't wanna track it down and pay all that money post-release.
I got the Figma and... let's just say I'm still sour over. It's as close to feeling scammed as I ever got, barring a figure with a lot of breakages. That Akaza was offensively bad. Which is insane when you consider that it was paired with a super good Rengoku.
>>
>>10969217
Like I said, FREEing was the worst choice for a character like Akaza. They would have ruined Rengoku as well.
>>
>>10969258
Yeah, I don't disagree. I was just calling it Figma because it's all at the end a Figma, but I do understand that it was FREEing's "handiwork" at play here.

>>
>>10962838
Being nice looking is what's fun for me at 30. Some characters I prefer something I can put in different poses, but growing older I realize for most characters I can just as easily enjoy static decorations that look nice, cost less and don't have accessories to keep track of concessions in detail for poseability.
>>
>>10960291
I agree with you on vinyl kaiju toys. They're fun with minimal articulation and less fragile. I also collect Masters of the Universe and often prefer the original vintagw figures with the limited articulation and gimmick functions like "power punch" spring action.
>>
>>10960249
I like some simpler articulation but I find straight 5 poa a little too limiting especially the ultra basic 70s kenner nostalgia bait that's cropped up recently, most 5 poa of the past would at least have dynamic poses built in. I much prefer, if not just kitted out with a standard assortment of ball hinges and single bends, the additional articulation flourishes of say the original tmnt line or masters of the universe.
>>
>>10960249
5POA is good for play and having toy representation of characters.
Everything above is more for having presentable and very cinematic play times.
Anyone who hates a certain points of articulation because ot the articulation is dumb tribalist. You only should hate any form because it is the same price but same scultping.
better sculpt, more paintapps more parts, more points of articulation are what should be seen at the price tag.
