Feels good to be a RockCHAD
>>10966912So what is the appeal of rocks?
>>10966902these look like castlevania enemies>>10966712that would suck more if he didn't fly facing forward on the show. fliers should generally be able to tilt their head upward
>>10966913they know things
>>10966914Succubus when
>>10966902A new Animated Safeguard might be cool, if they can even do as good a job as the original.
>>10966920The original was dogshit so anything would be better
>>10966925That sucks, I never got one and have always wanted it because I love non-scramble combiners, anything with a weird nonstandard scheme. I don't think I've ever seen another transformer combine like Safeguard did.
>>10966927Because it doesn't work well when you need to have articulation in the center.
>>10966927There are two ChoRyuJins coming out soon.
>>10966927The combined mode took the focus to the point that the individual robots were just generic dudes and the jet modes were laughable at best. But then, the earliest concepts for the characters we saw didn't even look like Transformers.
>>10966912>Transform and face me, coward!
Would RackN'Ruin count as a combiner if they were sold as Reflector (single packages)?
>>10966948If they were sold as Rack and Ruin, yes. Unlikely though since their thing was being built into a combined body from damaged one. Cyberverse version where they just are conjoined twins who have a shared altmode is better execution than the original who can no longer transform.
>>10966928torso articulation is overrated.if i want someone to bend over, i'll just bend them at the hips.
>>10966948what's that head on bludgeon?
>>10966955That isn't your decision to make. The current year means you are required to have articulation at the head and waist.
>>10966958head is mandatory unless there's a REALLY good reason.
>>10966956Looks like a Roadbuster
They should have released Monstructor in Japan, after Victory.
>>10966956Cloud Roadbuster, an Asia exlusive Energon Ironhide homage, the combo with Bludgeon is supposed to be a cybertronian Roadbuster.
>>10966960Balljointed necks, please. I want my guys to be able to look up and down.
>>10966964there are so many, many confusing things in this simple sentence.
>>10966965you'll need more than a ball joint then. you'll need a decently long neck, which looks stupid on most robots. and to really look up, you'll need a hole gouged out in the back of the head for the balljoint shaft to go up into.
>>10966962Why? You just have vague thing shells instead of dinosaurs.
Come on Starscream, the Amazon facility you were at was less than 20 miles from where I live and I've seen multiple Amazon truck deliveries.
>>10966969>you'll need a decently long neck, which looks stupid on most robots.RotF Lockdown is a rare exception. Also Breakaway from that same era has a balljointed neck that he can't utilize unless you do a little disassembly and shave some of the plastic away from the inner canopy.
>>10966912Rust-proofNo fags unlike Cybertronians
>>10966991I mean his head and neck definitely look stupid, but changing the neck wouldn't fix that.
>just picked up TR Broadside today>multiple posts about him in /tfg/ out of nowhereWell that's neat. I'm really enjoying him but his stickers are a bit scuffed up and I'm thinking of just taking them off and getting the toyhax set to replace them.I really want to get the Tidal Wave repaint but I feel like that's not going to be cheap.
>>10966993Being sexless rocks means are all fags.
>>10966995How much did you pay for Broadside?
>>10966995Neat, I took mine out of storage last week for probably the first time in a year or more.
>>10967002$30, I don't know if I would have paid much more than a modern voyager MSRP for him but I'm happy and I can't imagine a new one is coming any time soon.I really like the little pivot that his head is on so he has an easier time looking around, that's a nice little feature compared to most TR figures.
>putting the stickers on my Missing Link Prime>first time really seeing Prime's G1 trailer without applied stickers>The center of the trailer diamondplate doesn't have a blank spot just for the GO! sticker>Instructions tell you that you can put it either there or on the trailer ramp like the Diaclone toy>Ramp also covers some sculpted detail tooThere is no winning, but I put it on the ramp. Just feels more intended since it's the right width.
>>10966995Its a cool figure, gets better with the jet fanmode.
>>10967015dagblasted stickers.. you can't win
>>10967016Wonder if I should be feeling regret over passing him over when I saw him in stores some years ago between hearing negative things about the stickers and bad looking altmodes. They pretty much gave up on making marine vehicle guys after that.
>>10966948>Would RackN'Ruin count as a combiner if they were sold as Reflector (single packages)? What do you mean, "if"? They're being sold separately, pic related.
>>10967027He isn't popular, should be easy to find.
Farm equipment altmode guy named Sneedchuckor never.
>>10966986Dude, it's time to accept the facts here. Starscream clearly hijacked the Amazon truck as part of his latest scheme to dethrone Megatron and is currently en-route to the Deception base as we speak. You'll never hear from him again, especially when this plan backfires spectacularly (as usual).
Which Emperor of Destruction was best?
>>10966902Lol
>>10967115Considering the Starscream in question, this plan probably will involve getting big and getting a lot of generics.
>>10966995I thought everyone hated him due to the hokey jetmode
Going, to post the last Hero X Generations Transformers comic. I'll be a pain in the ass since 4chan's new captch made posting from my PC impossible, but here I go.Scorching Heat Showdown.Going through volcanic terrain, Armordillo heads back to the Maximal Base while Snapper is in hot pursuit! He has vital information for Optimus Primal... when suddenly! Booom!!!!
>>10967150i bet those two have a bitter rivalry as the two flipformy shell guys
>>10967150Armordillo is shot through the chest, by none other than Megalligator, Megatron's Avatar! Megalligator then orders Snapper to extract the information the deceased Armordillo was carrying from his databanks, but they're then interrupted by Convobat, Primal's own Avatar.
>>10967154Megalligator is shaken by Convobat's appearance, it seems like Maximals have started making their own Avatars. SUDDENLY, someone mentions being dissapointed with their Avatar's performance. That someone, is MEGATRON! Just as he's about to kill Convobat, Optimus Primal arrives in the nick of time and decides to battle Megatron by himself.
>>10967124BW Galvatron is so shit, he looks like a joke. Clown shoes.
>>10967166They briefly scuffle before Megatron decides to transform.
>>10967172Optimus Primal responds in kind, but it's too late! By the time Primal finished transforming, Megatron closed the gap and is ready to blast him point-blank with a full power energy blast.
>>10967015oh shit I'm applying those stickers as we speak..also I just realized headmasters work with Roller
>>10967124mein fuhrer Skyquake
>>10967196My first G1 Roller too, I never noticed his seats are designed so the guys in back are meant to ride facing the rear of the vehicle.
>>10967154fascinating. what word do they use for avatar here, bunshin?
>>10967179And that's exactly what Primal wanted! Getting so close exposed his weak point, Primal quickly attacking with his cannon before it goes off, causing Megatron to explode and causing the volcano they were fighting on to erupt, with Optimus and Convobat escaping before the eruption engulfed them.Back at the Maximal base. Primal regrets he couldn't save Armordillo and praises him for his bravery and wonders what information was so important that Armordillo risked his life to bring to him.
>>10967201No idea, but they don't seem to be stricly duplicates. Snapper is annoyed at being bossed around by Megalligator and Megalligator seems like a coward. So they're probably more like children made based on a template.
>>10967166sometimes I think oozaru primal would have been cooler. but I liked how the leader didn't have to be the biggest guy.>>10967172huh, the sword handles are guns too? I guess I should have known that. Also it seems Megatron's shiny purple parts have been rendered fuschia here, just like in the Kingdom toy. And that's definitely from the show model, the original toy was colored quite differently (they are mixing and matching here to a funny extent)>>10967196aww lil ride.>>10967202lol their scale seems to be more like the show now..wait is armordillo fucking dead?>>10967204oh that makes sense. I wonder if it's related to the lore for beast wars 2 or neo, whichever it was, where some kind of technobabble makes lio jr out of lio convoy
>>10967208wait a minute.. the original toy couldn't plug his scimitars into his back like that.. the NEW toy can. were those meant to be his shoulder cannons? I'm quite confused now
>>10967211The designs are stylized, but Primal and Megatron are using their Kingdom toys.
I can't believe Megatron and Armordillo are fucking dead
>>10967213h- how.. this is clearly an old manga from back when convobat and megalligator were relevant. the art style is completely oldened.
>>10967217Nah, this was from 2 years ago. These manga in the transformers Generations books tend to bring back some old artists to do a mini comic.
>>10967217There are entire people whose job is making fake VHS cartoon screenshots
>>10967222incredibru.. but, why? did japan get those kingdom toys as-is? same decos we did? was premium finish not the first ones they got?giant primal was from the old toy lore.. this is truly weird.>>10967223well sure but you don't expect to see that in a licensed publication except as a specific gag
>>10967199you just put the 'tards in the back so they don't pollute the conversation.
>>10966944Checked and I lol’d. This board is so gay, the best posts get the least attention
>>10967234Do you want people to post "lol" or something at that image?
>>10966944ohh i get it, he's facing a rock
>>10967150>>10967154>>10967166>>10967172>>10967179>>10967202blessed
>>10967015Just got mine this afternoon, though I won't be able to open him until I get off my shift in three hours. Didn't realize the stickers had to be applied - it's not a problem, but I thought he came with them already on.
>>10967259The only real problem with the stickers on mine is that several of them go right up to a joint or hinge, meaning that transforming starts to unstick the corner of the sticker right away.
>>10966995Titans Return is still my favorite toyline gimmick, I'd love to get more headmaster updates that aren't just one a year weirdos like Fangry or Squeezeplay
>>10967259Hell I thought he didn't have stickers, and instead had fully painted decals
I'm almost done save for some expensive exclusives. I'd be okay with just Rampage to say done with main cast and maybe fox kids Waspinator because that yellow is sex.
>We had to get to a meme line like missing link to get a bumblebee, that's not made of deep fried kraft cheese, with two wheels on its armsOkay, I guess....
>tfw cant buy every Transformer I want in one dayWhy is life so hard bros?
>>10967231>"let's fucking Go! what is that a V8?">"it's a radioisotope thermoelectric generator.">"Far out man..."
>Tra Gen SS Multipack ROTF 15th Autobot Multipack. (LDR Jetfire, Voy Optimus & 2 unknown Deluxes)>Product code: G0294Hmm, the Deluxes are probably Bumblebee and...Sideswipe, maybe. Or Ratchet.
>>10967293you got those circle stickers on better than I could
>>10967273correction
>>10967292i could, but the problem is they would keep making more. and the current ones i don't have are kinda flawed and I refuse to pay retail.
For anon asking for Fire Guts pictures last night
>>10967295Jolt and Ratchet is my bet for the combination scene
>>10967295That has to be Jolt. Closest thing he has to a scene. Only reason why might not be is that Jolt is pretty available in the wild still.
>>10967303I wish Optimus would get an alt mode as nice as this again. Maybe SS86 will deliver and take the place of MP10V.
>>10967296That was the most stressful part. one of them is slightly off axis and it is driving me insane
>>10967259>>10967270Optimus himself replaces all the original sticker detail with sculpted areas and tampos (except you can add a license plate/head lights to his chrome grill if you want), but bizarrely includes a sticker sheet that has all his original stickers anyway. The trailer (on the C-01 toy colors version) however uses the same stickers as it always has and those have to be applied.
>>10967319the sleeper cab part becomes a shield. cool.
>>10967322ohh weird.
>>10966968"Ironhide" in Energon/SuperLink was originally called Roadbuster in Japan (a much more fitting name imo).
>>10967326Fire Guts taught me thatAlso that you should test any opponent for a glass jaw
>>10967338Roadbuster is also a random name reuse. At least Ironhide's head kind of looks like a helmet like the G1 cartoon Ironhide and has red for his torso. Roadbuster doesn't match in anything.
>>10967295I am not paying for another Optimus and Jolt, and whoever else, for another chance at Jetfire.
>>10967338that clears up.. part that i didn't realize I didn't get
>>10967348wait, does he have two shields, or is this a different one
>>10967358Arm kibble
>>10967349Roadbuster is more fitting in personality. He's young and naive, but chunky and over-geared up (look at his oversized helmet and the giant floodlights+speaker lmao), so his name is Buster. Like a dog lol
>>10967358>someone isn't intimately familiar with Classics Prime
>>10967360are you saying that piece of the cab is hanging off of his arm even here >>10967319 ? you just can't see it behind the shield? and shouldn't it be on both ar.. ohhh man it is. it's just camouflaged because it's black on the inside.
Anyone else feel like Hasbro has been doing lots of repacks and re-releases more lately because of their recent financial problems? It used to be occasional but now every deluxe wave past wave 2 of United has a random repack slot taken up. Also now we have that 3 pack of Shockwave, Soundwave, and Starscream which is either the Kingdom/Siege ones for the xth time or at the very least the bumblebee movie or bayverse ones. Surprised we haven't had more seeker repaints. Where AM Thundercracker?
>>10967358>Zoomers don't know about Classics/Henkei OptimusFeels like just yesterday it was still posted in threads here all the time.
>>10967349>>10967361 ("Ironhide" is too closely associated with the G1 incarnation, or the Bay one who also has a similar "gruff army vet" personality, anyway).
>>10967369i'm the opposite, this is after my time.i did used to read the wiki a lot back in the late 00s and learn about the movie toys, and occasionally other stuff, but
>>10967361That is like saying a black and white rock band roadie vehicle with sonic powers should be called Starscream.
>>10967378That sounds fucking sick and it should, yes.
>>10967370The only Roadbuster to even have a personality was the exact opposite of the guy in Energon. Melancholic and quiet outside of the battlefield.
>>10967378that.. would be a better use of that name, yeah
>>10967308Lol found the tfw asshole assblasted about the twins stfu fag
>>10967390Those guys weren't even around for that so better for vs Devastator. Plus that would require making actual new molds.
>Nucleous is made of Nucleon>Nucleon is what makes a Cybertronian "faster, stronger, more alive">Is addictive>Nucleous is a white rock
>>10967313I think classics prime alt mode is ugly as sin. Rounded cabovers in general pale in comparison to blocky ones, but even then it looks lumpy and disfigured with random swooshes that ugly up the sculpt even further. There's nothing even impressive about it mechanically. The entire silhouette is built up of two partsforming pieces, two giant kibble shells, and a fake grille and bumper before that even became a popular prime thing
>>10967374Interesting. For a very long time Classics Optimus was the end-all of Optimus toys, and probably still is for some people. An add-on armor set for the white Ultra Magnus deco essentially founded the third-party market, too. Given the limitations I still think City Commander is pretty impressive. Much more so than the recent Ultra Magnus Hasbro did. There's a charm to Classics OP that hasn't been replicated. The closest is maybe the new Reactivate one, but that one has its own issues. I don't own it though, it might be better than it looks.
I think core class is dead by next year, the releases have slowed down very considerably with only what 1-2 more new molds left?
>>10967378>>10967383You also have to remember what the mission statement of UT was narratively, anywho: only OP, Megs, Starscream and Jetfire resembled their G1 selves in any way in Armada/Micron Legend, and even then it was all only surface-level and they were deep reinterpretations or subversions of their personalities. The UT was basically Hasbro and Takara's first ever FULL new-universe reboot, so they wanted it to be meaningfully different, hence why the approach for old names was "what kind of character would this be fitting for in general, disconnected from G1 baggage as much as possible?"That said Hasbro's Energon names in general were much worse on the whole, in their trademark-preserving-ness.>Make a guy in SuperLink who's visibly an homage to G1 Springer, is CALLED Sprung by Takara (G1's JP name), Hasbro goes nah name him fucking Bulkhead lmao
I just don't see the issue with using the same name for different characters in different iterations honestly, it kept the brand from becoming stale reusing the same characters over and over, which is what we've been stuck in ever since they went all in on evergreen brand unity.
>>10967390Huh? The Jetfire seppeku is immediately followed by>Jolt, electrify
>>10967405you're correct in saying that>redoing the same charactersis different from>making new versions of the old charactersbut neither is any good. the name recycs become pointless when there's zero resemblance, and if there is resemblance, well then it's just a rehash.
>>10967405There is no point and people use the Japanese names to disassociate them from the G1 characters they overlap with anyway.
>>10967390We're never getting the Twins. And thats good.
>>10967397ironically watching the s1 ep where Terrorsaur gets high off the space cocaaaaaaaaine.
>>10967415Would getting Quantum Operative Skids and Screech from the Skids mold count?
>>10967411Nah I use the JP SuperLink names just cause they're more fitting, that's honestly it. For Armada it's the opposite, the JP names are the ones who feel like nameslaps to me, though I still prefer terms like Micron over Mini-con - and for Galaxy Force, I mostly stick with US too, outside a few exceptions like Noisemaze and the Convoys.
>>10967400I was mostly referring to deco detail. SS38 Optimus's is pretty good, though even it suffers a little in that department. Still probably the best after the G1 toy though.
>>10967409>but neither is any good. the name recycs become pointless when there's zero resemblance, and if there is resemblance, well then it's just a rehash.First off, that's subjective. They weren't trying to resemble old characters with the names they used though, they were applying old names and trademarks that usually fit the character and their vehicles. They were supposed to be new characters for new itterations of Transformers, not the old ones. I will never personally fault them for trying something new with old ideas, that includes names.
>>10967427>Laughs in Inferno
>>10967429NTA but that's a good point, Beast Wars was basically doing the same thing in its approach to name-reuse as UT would (see: PrOwl, too)
>>10967429>Firetruck>Fire AntMakes sense to me...
>>10967432And Bonecrusher. And Snarl. And Buzzsaw. And...
>>10967411that shit is confusingmy policy would be to use the language of whichever country made the show, so english for beast wars, japanese for nigh on everything else, but A) G1 makes that confusing as shit because it was kind of in both countries at once, and B) G1 crosses over with Beast Wars... and then they have their own BW anime, twice.
>>10967416that one was greatdid his superstructure actually mutate to give him big honking guns, or were those just always there but very energy-inefficient
>>10967432Ssssort of, but that's different. at first it was going to be a continuation of G1 where the old guys got new bodies, then it was a continuation of G1 where new guys homage their ancestors. it's not the same as making a new continuity and new characters with familiar names.
>>10967439As >>10967421, it also gets confusing when you consider that the UT characters typically received their names during toy design, and the toy designers could be from Hasbro and from Takara. Much of Armada was Hasbro-designed, which's why those names feel "better" to me; but this might be me making up rules to justify myself, who knows lol.>>10967442The context doesn't really matter, but BW being so far-flung that it's different people definitely helps separate it from G1 narratively. But either way, the point is that the characters are unrelated to G1 and only reuse names in ways that would make sense or be fitting for the new character, with little regard to who exactly held that name before.
>>10967364It's not unheard of, I was collecting back then and never got my hands on one, I've still never held one. I got the Floptimus/tank Megatron 2pack instead because I'm an idiot.
>>10967445A slide from an Aaron Archer panel at TFCon 2022 showing possible character names during Armada development
>>10967364you're right to be both afraid and disgusted
>>10967451Cy-Kill instead of Sideways . . . What a kino timeline
>>10967451Huh that's interesting, a lotta these were the Micron Legend names. I guess Japan used the names considered during Armada's development, but later got finalized in America? Ironic, given the show's Eng. dub was rushed to air 6 entire months earlier.
>>10967466The communication between Japan and America during the UT was...inadequate at best.
>>10967466They were likely the same for the dub as well, but many of these weren't available to them so they had to pick new names.
>wah no gunsTHIS is what modern megatron should be.
>>10967475Isn't that just a tank with worse mobility? Also trains aren't popular outside Japan.
>>10967475damn straight>>10967477that's because they don't have big cannons on them. more like thomas the TANK
legends/legion class toys are so hind to find...
>>10967475What if there was a rail gun on rails ?
>>10967500at a decent price, anyway. I swear sometimes it's like frozen meals... you can get a 10 pound lasagna for like 8 bucks and then you can get a single-serving 4-inch square for 4 bucks.
>>10967503what if it electrified the rails and made those into the rails of the railgun!? sure you wouldn't be able to shoot anything above the toe, and it would have to be standing between the rails, but...
>Amazon emailed me to inform me Tidal Wave is delayed a month to Aug 2.Hasbro is really trying to fuck over Amazon customers now huh.
>just pre ordered MP Brawl I would be really annoyed if we end up with gorilla arms for a MPI can't see why the obtuse wordings unless it is to hide lack of free moving wrists
>>10967579isnt it weird, when we were kids we never could have dreamed we'd be able to just... contact toy making people, or people who did review shows, or anything else like that...
>>10967562Maybe Amazon is imploding.
>>10967584Not until my preorders come in
>>10967115Welp. Time to cancel and try again.
>>10967605>Price went up to 42.99That's it, I'm trying a different retailer.
>>10967609i hope it arrives anyway
>>10967124BW Megs, considering he's the only one there who actually won at what he was trying to accomplish; he was only defeated after the fact.
>>10967605It's amazon. Just tell them it's lost in the mail and they'll send out another one.
>>10967170BWII Galvatron is so weird I can't help but find him interesting, it's like a late g1 or brave toy in engineering with part of the sculpt changed to resemble a BW era design, especially the face.
>>10967440They were always there, and he actually used them more than his handheld gun. I'm baffled as to why they weren't added for his Kingdom toy (or why a 3rd party never made a pair for it).
>>10967624well I meant more like his giant rifle, but also his shoulder guns seemed to upgrade in that form.
>>10967624oh by the way there was indeed a thirdparty kit with the shoulder guns. i hab it. Ended up getting two for that sumbitch because a later one had the reversible wing hinges
With the upcoming 86 Megatron coming, what's actually wrong with CW, TR, Siege and Earthrise Megatrons? Why do we need a new one so badly?
>>10967646>CWPeople complain about his limited articulation and proportions>TRDo you mean the triple changer one? I actually agree about that one being dogshit>SiegeHe has that design flaw with his neck but otherwise he is decenh>EarthriseHe has that awful headsculpt and the partsforming tank barrel
>>10966912Do the rock guys combine with fossilizers in any meaningful way? I find them bland as just rocks but maybe if they're rocks with fucking dinosaur bones shooting out of them that would peak my interest more.
>>10967646>>10967650this andCW had terrible looking arm joint.TR had stickers and weird cannon - mold is fine and g2 TT repaint is great.Siege - weird proportions, floppy writs, battle damage.ER - battle damage, yellowing, a bit weird face, shit tank mode.
>>10967124I like Megatron the most but Galvatron was a cool guy, i'd hang out with him. I also appreciate how even his animation model has a constant grimace. I dunno if it's because that's how the toy was designed to look or the other way around. Magmatron didn't seem to do much of anything most of the time
>>10967170> BW Galvatron is so shit, he looks like a joke. How to say you’ve never owned BWII Galvatron without saying you’ve never owned BWII Galvatron.
>>10967646CW is oversized, TR is a forced partsformer and looks cheap as fuck, Siege/ER have yellowing and wonky proportions. My favorite CHUG Megatron is unironically the Henkei one from 2008 because at least it still turns into a gun.
>>10967777>Henkei one from 2008The nerf one but in silver? That Megatron is pretty great.
So what do you guys think Bumblebee and Cliffjumper will cost? I wouldn’t mind if it was under $20.
>whoops I dropped my magma condoms for my magma dong
>>10967787What was the vintage G1 reissue Bumblebee, $20? With Missing Link engineering I'd imagine they'd be closer to $30 or so.
>those thingies sometime left in the pinholesIt is just me or those thingies are started to worst around last year?I don't recalled ever see so many of them during the TR/CW era.And the new BB shockwave got those in every one of his holes. And how are those scraps even left in there in the first place? Do they not pre drill the hole before smashing the pin hence should be a clear cut? Or the holes are not pre drilled and the holes were made when the pins going in?
I normally don't post everything I pick up but I feel like these are worth sharing since they're two of my holiest of all grails I managed to get for an actual steal under $500 the other day.Commemorative Series Powermaster Optimus Prime with Apex Armor and Encore G1 Megatron, both boxed and complete in excellent condition. I'm not super super into the original G1 toys so I'm not about to go collecting every release out there, but I do want some of the highlights and these two were at the very top of my list as the "best" releases of them in my opinion.
This will kill both brands
>>10967822They didn't let the drill dwell in the hole for a few seconds to clear it, saves time.
>>10967832You said that about Snake Eyes and Rise of the Beasts. These fuckers will not die, no matter how bad it will be, I promise you.
>>10967830I really can see why people like the original Powermaster Optimus toy so much, he's just an absolute hefty beast that just feels fun to handle. Godbomber is kinda neat too since he's more uncommon to see, but he really is just a bunch of accessories that can vaguely partsform a trailer or robot. I have the MPG Ginrai preordered so it'll be super interesting to see how it compares to the original.Megatron too for that matter, I haven't handled a whole lot of vintage toys but how heavy the die cast is always surprises me. He's a lot fiddlier than I anticipated but he'll mostly just be a counterpart to Missing Link Prime since I don't see him getting a new one at all.
>>10967832Atrocious logo
>>10967832It'll kill Joe, finally. The transformers will not die, especially with TF One coming along to be at least moderately enjoyable, at best, well done in a way that makes all the forced humor of the first trailer vibe like Optimus dribbling a basketball.
>>10967830Why do people mistransform G1 Megatron hips? I've seen pics like that for decades and I don't get it, looks way better with the hip hinges close to the body
>>10967848It does have the benefit of him being able to stand straight while holding his cannon up once the knees become too loose. Otherwise he ends up leaning backwards.
>>10967839>fellow graphic design appreciatorYou took the words out of my mouth
>>10967855>The eyes arent even lined upFuck you for not responding to my job applications Hasbro. Fuck you.
>>10967848Stability + not really knowing exactly what I'm doing
should i pick up a g1 ultra magnus? he looks like a glorified statue and costs over commander class
Would a modern update of Heinrad keep the working clock feature? What about the testicles in his beast mode?
>>10967866can americans even read an analogue clock face these days?
>>10967832I like the current comics
>>10967866Why would you even think they would keep the clock? In fact, the new designers are so prone of missing the point of the original designs that they could even rework the thing to only be able to look like a real tanuki, completely fucking up the appeal of the character.
>>10967848>mistransformed >closer to the bodyThere are stickers that are supposed to show on the leg hinge, it is not mistransformed at all
>>10967873SameDuke is a bit weak imo but Cobra Commander has been a lot of fun
>>10967865I was gonna recommend Mandarake but the last one they had sold for 24k yen so it's probably not worth itcoulda sworn it was a lot cheaper
>>10967838>I have the MPG Ginrai preordered so it'll be super interesting to see how it compares to the original.Little size comparison for youNot sure why it always tickles me that Godbomber is the same height as Ginrai. Like, I always expect the accessory robot to be noticeably shorter
>>10967884Speaking of accessory robots I got my payment request for Might Kaiser today>>10967865>>10967879Yeah I poked around the usual places for an Ultra Magnus myself about a week agoAnd he seem to be going for about 200 maple leafs these days
Any info on tfone figures? Like what characters will get toys? SS or Prime changers figures.
>>10967876Having stickers there means nothing, it's the same as having sculpted detail that you only see mid transformation. The thing is clearly designed so the legs can be in a more natural position for a reason. And you can still partially open the hips to see them, but having those extended until the hips are as wide as the chest makes zero sense, looks like shit and also goes against what the instructions say.
>>10967878Yep, duke is a pretty slow startBut I especially liked nemesis enforcer wrecking shit
Will we ever get full sized pretenders again? I love my oil master & want more.
>>10967901No
>>10967887Eh, I'd say it depends. I mean I've shifted pretty much entirely to vintage/reissue so for me, Ultra Magnus was pretty much a no brainer, especially since I'm a big fan of the movie/season 3 cast.
>>10967890Not enough to be worth reporting. A lot of the entries even use codenames.
>>10967890Other than Optimus there's a deluxe Megatron this year and next year deluxe Starscream and voyager Sentinel Prime
>>10967901Thankfully noWhy would I want my cool robots to disguise as generic 90's monster men or g.i. joes? Hope they never come back
>>10967932I liked the inner bots, they always felt to me like what normal base-level Cybertronians look like before scanning a disguise, their altmodes are just utilitarian ways to move around faster not actual disguises. The fact that they all pretty much transform the same strengthens this idea of them being average dudes before the Pretender treatment beefed them up.
>>10967884Clear plastic window brothers we have finally won, for good. The decision is final. Painted window faggot hamhands cucks btfo for life.
>>10967890SS Orion Pax has already gone up for pre-order, and basic figures or Orion and Alpha Trion, along with some Earthrise repaints and some mask figures.
>>10967932So their answer was to make the robots not cool.
>>10967901I would love to see this concept brought back in the future when toys are made of nano-machines and you can have a fully transforming to that you can skin in a pretender suit without sacrificing articulation.
>>10967938I've never understood why you would WANT clear windows? There's no interior to look at, just folded up parts.
>>10967951>There's no interior to look atI like when there is, though.
Huh. I just realized both blue bike girls in Legacy have a shuriken because they were designed as a different ninja.
>>10967953I like it if they do what they did recently with Legacy Animated Prime, where the chest windows were clear (though painted) but they were additional parts glued into the chest. Completely clear panels that are wrapped around metal pins makes nervous, because regardless of hamhanding (though the way Hasbro makes figures now you don't even need ham hands to break shit) over time the plastic will shrink, but the metal will not and eventually those clear parts will crack apart.
Man this custom looks cool.
>>10967951>I've never understood why you would WANT clear windows? It looks way less cheap.
>>10966944Lol.
>>10967951I like translucent colors, especially trans-neon-green. Soundwave just isn't the same without a clear chest window, too.
>>10967832Current comics good but yea they're jumping the gun hardcore, Especially with all this shitTF One looks like irredeemable slop with no good really other than maybe a few figuresGI Joe has been milking classified and hasn't done shit for the comics Tho Comics mostly use some classified designs I'd like to see a Joe Classified or so and a Former line that's just skybound stuff
>>10967838Fans Hobby reissue tho lol
>>10967866If they can't get a modern Perceptor to have a scope you can actually see anything through, let alone one that functions as a magnifiying lens, then the chances of a functioning clock in a figure are grim...
>>10967878>>10967900I'm not a Joe guy yet (only read the first 25 issues of ARAH before Skybound), so I'm unfamiliar with Duke's personality overall, but I was a bit struck oddly by his character at the end of his mini. Like he's really edgy. Dude closes off the mini with the lines "we kill them all." in regards to the TFs. Obv it's setting up the misunderstandings-into-team-up schtick they've always done, and in the story's context his jadedness isn't unwarranted at all, but it still feels like an odd direction to take his character. This is the main dude in GIJ, right? Can't help but shake the feeling "what if Captain America had said that" lmao.
>>10968032The Captain America rip-off guy is one from a decade later. Duke's even more generalized good guy.
>>10968037>The Captain America rip-off guy is one from a decade later.Wait what? Who? Lolol I had no idea that happened.>Duke's even more generalized good guy.So would it still be odd and kinda unfitting for him, then? Not trying to say it's a good or bad thing if he is, mind you; just that I find it interesting.
>>10967652Should be able to - they all use the same 5mm ports and pegs. I haven't tried anything myself, though.
so are there no pics of springer yet?primevsprime said he saw it already
>>10968059It's gonna be a Legacy Sandstorm remake isn't it?Half the SS86 lately have just been lazy remolds and repaints of past releasesFeels like they're on that last leg of SS86 and running out of creative ability
>>10968064>It's gonna be a Legacy Sandstorm remake isn't it?>Half the SS86 lately have just been lazy remolds and repaints of past releasesNo, but you're on the right trackWord on the street is it's just going to be a bulked out version of the Siege/Wrecker mold
>>10968064no, it was recently confirmed to be a premium retool of siege voyager springernew head, new chest, new thighs, new hands, extra accessoriessame voyager shins apparentlyi'm kinda bummed, i was hoping for a totally new mold
>>10968064They said on stream it's a "beefed up" retool of the Siege voyager to better look like his movie appearance.
>>10968068>>10968070>>10968072ManI liked Siege Springer yet it was so ehhh in several spotsI don't think it'll be any better if they're just "Beefing it up"SS86 truly is dying lmao At this rate SS86 Prime will take another 2 years+ to even be revealed and it'll be a slightly cleaner Earthrise
>>10968072They’re trying to make all the triple changers into leaders.Springer was the only one that came out before that happened.
i love the wreckers insignia but i hate that the wrecker springer has that ugly gray deco>>10968083i feel like it's been long enough that they could've just made a new one
>>10967799why does it have joints to swing forward like that... is that for the chimera mode?
>>10967884i am way confused now>>10967901i would definitely enjoy this remade in some way
>>10967979what is it customized from? and why not just buy the existing toy of this version of the character?
>>10968117Beast Machines BlackarachniaWeird design choices on the original
>>10968032Duke is basically 100% whitebread goody goody. To the point that it's one of the reasons the cartoon made Lady Jaye, Flint, and Shipwreck the main characters in the cartoon over Duke. Skybound Duke is basically Hawk (who originally has Duke's face before it got recycled for Duke, forcing them to change Hawk from a blonde to a brunette and later make him a general). Hawk was always way more edgier and Duke is basically the team dad.
>>10968112What is there to be confused about
Thoughts? I missed the discussion surrounding these.
>>10968171It is another Optimus Prime. Out of the four, experiments the least with the look.
>>10968171Pretty clunky and mine has some qc issues I needrf to dismantle stuff to smooth out. I think Alt mode is a little ruined by the fucking Matrix in the windows but I plan to get the ToyHax set and like %80 himDespite that I like really like him. Feels clunky but like a heavy smooth. Looks great tooFucking Madmax ass truckGreat poseability and articulation, Like ER Prime
>>10968171I think he looks really neat, idk why his eyes are so tiny tho. Not sure if the game is actually gonna come out or if it's vaporware, but either way the circumstances around these figures is really interesting to me
>>10968157Bimba.gif
>>10968171Fun design, the figure is solid and transformation pretty good. The gun is absolutely shit, though. I have no idea who thought it was a good idea to make the handle so damn short, because he can barely hold the thing and a slight bump can make it fall out of his hand.
>>10968171The dude is 90% folding panels, and the ones on his back tend to clash quite a bit as you try transforming him. The plastic quality itself feels really cheap, and mine came with stressmarks around several pins right out of the box.He also can't hold his gun - they made the peg that serves as the handle too short for some reason.
>>10968157sorry, someone customized BM blackarachnia into BM blackarachnia? with extensive puttying all over?? instead of just repainting her slightly???
>>10968169well for one thing, I thought godbomber was a gigantic white truck that turns into a big bricky robot
>>10968212Don't get your God Bombers mixed up with your God Magnuses
>>10968219so this Prime Saber custom that I remember being godbomber is god magnus?in my defense it's been fucking decades, his site is down, and only the index page is archived.
>>10968225Oh no, that's GodbomberNow I'm even more confused about whatever your mix up could have been
>>10967884well I thought he was huge!and I didn't realize he had any red on him, I assumed the cab was the chest. I totally forgot how he looks.
>>10968171He is very cool, the only bad thing is the grey plastic which is kind of ugly
>>10968225the confusion is that the anime chose to make the chrome front white
Ya know, for the life of me I can't think of a single good Energon toy that deserves remaking aside from Megatron, and we already got him. Core class, but still.Maaaaaaybe Cruellock.
>>10968324Fattimus would be kino
>>10968304ah yeah, changing colors make fools of us alldjou know spider-man briefly had a blue spider on his back instead of red
>>10968324I'd say just release tweaked terrorconsBut I don't know if I want to pay Deluxe prices for them
>>10968324Snow Cat might happen in the Transformers x GI Joe movie line. Also Mirage is handsome.
>>10968344Mirage is Tidal Wave. We already got him this year.
>>10968324Sixshot/Shockblast are the only ones I would really want and they're just Shockwave
>>10968355Only in the show. And it is an entirely different body design than the Armada Tidal Wide.
>>10967951That's what windows look like. Why would you want big toony painted slabs?
>>10968369It is more accurate to how it looks than transparent.
>>10967832Like always, TF is the only thing that makes Joe relevant, but Bayshitters have drained the life out of the Transformers brand so this may very well damage the TF brand worse. It will be hilarious though to see yet another attempt at GI Joe to fail
>>10968324Fucking Scorponok?
>>10968378Nah.
>>10968379Kys
>>10968382I mean, whats the point? The Earthrise toy is fine.
>>10968384Energon Scorponok and G1 Scorponok are not the same character
>>10968387Yes, but a guy that turns into a scorpion is better than a guy that turns into some kinda half-assed construction thing that happens to be shaped like a scorpion.
>>10968390energon and g1 both turn into vague shit though
>>10968390Energon's scorpion mode is way cooler than G1's
>>10968406I bought that Botcon one because Energon Scorponok in G1 colors is the perfect Scorp for me
>>10968324The Powerlink gimmick ruined the Autobot toys but there were still a handful of good designs among them, and the Decepticon were all good IMO. I’d buy new toys of Megatron, Starscream, Demolishor, Snow Cat, Shockblast, Rodimus, Landmine, Inferno, Jetfire, Scorponok and all the Terrorcons. Ditch the Powerlink gimmick of course. But I think Starscream is the only one that has even a slight chance of getting a new toy and only because it would complete the UT Starscream trio.Core class Megatron is great btw, everyone should own one.
>>10968209>instead of just repainting her slightlyWasn't she hot pink and not purple in the show?
>>10968209Apparently the guy wanted to combine elements of multiple BAs
>>10968424Once they make an updated G2 Smokescreen or Cyberjets, that is probably going to get reused like crazy including Energon Starscream.
>>10968428sure.. but this anon painted her the same colors as the toy, but with different colors put in different places. on top of a thick layer of putty. i just don't get it.
>>10968304Honestly, I don't think that's meant to be white. It's slightly too dark. I think it's just very light grey, and likely meant to be representative of a shiny metal grey without being as costly as actually animating a chromed surface.
>>10968434The putty makes her limbs better than the original.
>>10968430Probably the other way around. Make Starscream, turn it into normal colours and all the cyber jets.
>>10968324Scorponok, considering the original has breakage issues. I would love a Wing Saber that can actually pose. His design is awesome but the original toy is a brick.
>>10968439In any case, the whole fold the plane in half thing can be easily milked on the level Sideswipe was.
So what was the official word for the Beast machines designs being not toy friendly, did hasbro just didn't care and gave full control to mainframe?
>>10968438okay. looks like a lateral move to me.
>>10968452It's weird. They seemingly designed for animation with S2 and S3 of Beast Wars, hence why they translated so well. Then BM comes along and that idea doesn't work anymore? Frankly I don't believe the official word. Until August 2000, the BM toys are seemingly toy first, animation second and none of them wouldn't translate to animation. If anything, I'd argue the toy Vehicons are superior to the animation models.
>>10968452Machines had different people design vehicle and beast modes, and then on top of that they often got arranged farther going to 3D models.
>>10968482My point being is that Mainframe redesigned and simplified to lighten their workload.
>>10968482i find it very hard to believe the BM show designs were based on the initial toys. maybe vaaague sketches which the toys were also based on>>10968484that's the funny thing, the vehicons all have extremely basic transformations that make sense as toys, and if anything they're too boring for tv (but i think that was the idea. like megatron's designs are barely transformers at all)
>>10968163>Skybound Duke is basically Hawk>Hawk was always way more edgier and Duke is basically the team dad.Which is I guess part of why I'm confused considering like, Hawk is also in Skybound lawl, so why?
inb4 Springer is just Siege but clean and he comes with the big cannon thing he loaded the thing intoor a throne, at this point
>>10968486Maybe?BM has a shit ton of concept art, maybe more than BW had, they even got fairly big name concept artists working on it outside of Mainframe. I think it's more like Mainframe didn't want to be constrained to the toy designs
>>10968519We know they simplified S1 to work in animation.
>>10968518The leak says it also has a new head, chest, shoulderpads, thighs, guns, swords and articulated fingers.
>>10968527I don't get it.
>>10968533What leaks? Someone has Springer in hand?
>>10968535PrimeVSPrime has it or saw it, people are talking about it on twitter.
>>10968533Maybe it's just stuff like forearms and feet that are reused? I can't think of any examples, but I'm sure we've had new figures that reused a small handful of parts. But holy shit voyagers sure would be more affordable than leaders. Maybe people will start selling their Siege Springers for cheap though.
>>10968324Scorponok.
>>10968324Cruellock, Divebomb, and Battle/Command Ravage, yeah. that's about it.
>>10968556waitaminitsnowcat too
Finally got my missing link convoy in. And it's pretty much perfect? I never owned G1 Prime, and from my perspective, this entire package has a pure toyetic essence that is absent from recent Transformers. Every piece just comes together to form a wonderful play experience, even with the absence of the diaclone soldiers. Basically, it's just a toy being a toy, and nailing it. I love the added articulation, but it's really just icing on an otherwise brilliant cakeMissing Link Convoy is proof that we have to go back.
>>10968534
also, if I had a nickel for every fantastic little bot in pale green and yellow with red eyes and a winged alt mode that I've gotten lately, I'd have three nickels.Hardshell in particular is a shining example of a bot with a ton of flaws, but every last one of them is completely offset by how fun and stylish he is.
Dude, it'd be cool if Unicron was a triple changing leader class Armorizer.
>>10968569I think my only real complaint about the added articulation is that the foot doesn't have any forward tilt. But his ratcheting joints are so fucking orgasmic that I don't care.
>>10968603i definitely dig both of these designs. I'd like to see them modified somewhat... the pincers should be on the forearms rather than inexplicably held in his hand (is he operating them like chopsticks?) and the head as a flip-up dish thing is kind of silly, but the rest of that one is basically perfect.and the headformer would basically just benefit from some chnges in proportions. and not even that much. though I do think if he's actually going to become a big ol head, the head should be.. kind of planet-y? nice and round like G1 unicron's head.
>>10968610>the foot doesn't have any forward tilt.it does
>>10968324Alot were great and could definitely use touch ups and better articulationsCommander OptimusHotshotInfernoJetfireMirageRodimusMegatronWing SaberOMEGA SUPREME Commander or Titan ClassSixshot/ShockwaveSuperion and Bruticus CombinerHell the Terrorcons and Omnibots could easily have deluxe or even Core Class
>>10968616OH god, it was just so stiff I was afraid to force it. Thank you kind anon. A lot of the other joints were stiff on the first transformation, so I'm not surprised.
>>10968573>Sunrunnerbased. I wish he'd have gotten a voyager class figure back during universe/rts when making little dudes into big dudes was en vogue.
>>10968569I like it. I just hate how they chose to handle the deco options. It was a painful thing for me to skip and I might end up regretting doing so, but I just can't throw $120 on it. But it's still one of the cooler things Transformers has had in a very long time. I'd go so far as to say it's the best Optimus since MP10, even if the pretense makes for some annoying limitations in places. I wish they'd gone ever so slightly further with updating it.
>average autocuck vs average Deceptichad
>>10968675Shockwave can't even see him over that stupidly huge bust
>>10968675How is that Sunstreaker? The yellow looks a little overwhelming, but it might be better in person.
>>10968674>I just hate how they chose to handle the deco options. If you mean you don't want to drop the money for the C-01 version with the trailer just to get the superior toy deco, I get it. I had the money to burn so I went for it, and the trailer is honestly kind of fun so I don't regret it.it has that "entire playset in a single toy" vibe that we haven't seen since Titans Return. But really, the amber windows alone were enough for me to take the plunge.
>>10968685Eh fuck it. I just bought one from Pulse because I know even with reissues this thing is going to be extremely expensive on the aftermarket. Still, charging $50 for better paint and the trailer is a little dickish. I imagine of all the Missing Link figures we get it's the only one where that will be an issue though, and the promise of more to come is what tipped me over the edge to buy it.
>>10968693considering even reissue beast wars guys are ludicrously expensive, with no added articulation and in fact some molding/assembly errors and missing paint apps, I have to imagine missing link will strangle you even harder for each penny.
>>10968685The only thing the new one can't do that the old one can is that they removed the spring loaded launching gimmick in the trailer, so instead it has a removable repair drone. I was surprised the spring loaded missiles stayed in though, guess the toy safety standards poof when you market it as a high end adult collectible
>>10968679As you can see, he is a much brighter yellow than Generations Sunstreaker's american cheddarI'll say, the colour matching better the yellow paint and yellow plastic is really good. Even through the camera, which normally highlights the difference, you can barely tell
>>10968696Huh. When you reminded me of the Beast Wars reissues, I looked it up. Last week Wolfang was stupidly cheap on Wal-Mart's site, but now he is a lot and Retrax is going for less than 7. Also the Warrior ES Elita-1 went from less than four dollars to a more normal 15. What volatile prices on things that don't really appeal to me.
>>10968573beast Hunters Hardshell is super good. I honestly love the beast hunters line. Tons of great aesthetic that never appeared in the actual show.
>>10968707I like him a lot tooYeah, the Prime character's have all been botched so far, but I'd still like to get a big toy of Hardshell
>>10968707he's pretttty good, but anon was right about him having flaws. I would love to see another crack at the same idea, but a little better bug anatomy (Even if it is an alien robo bug, it could stand to be more naturalistic, and not have an obvious vertebrate face and mouth)
>>10968696>I have to imagine missing link will strangle you even harder for each penny.Yeah, but most of them won't corner people with specific deco/accessory combinations like Optimus. You're right though that it's possible that subsequent pricing could be worse than Optimus's, but at least it won't pressure people into buying shit they may not really care about. Bumblebee is just Bumblebee. Prowl is just Prowl.
>>10968712>anon was right about him having flawsReally, the flaws are all in his bot mode articulation. He has no neck or head, he has no wrists and his hands are in an awkward position, and his legs are saved by having ball jointed ankles, but are fucked up otherwise.I love the overall style, though. The Prime aesthetic just works really well for bugs.
>>10968701I wish the hands and feet had some paint on them but I might pick it up if I see it in store. Looks like a decent impulse purchase.
>>10968714oh, got it. yes. probably that specific thing won't happen again.
>>10968569Missing Link is from the alternate universe where Hanna Barbera made the show and these are the Masterpiece toys of that.
>>10968731Now what does an AKOM-animated episode Scooter look like?
I'm curious to see how deep and extensive the Missing Link line goes. A lot of G1 toys are about as straightforward to update as Optimus (even the ones that had less articulation to begin with) but there are obvious heavyhitters that are far less elegant.
>>10968731It is a profound shame that MP-10 never got a slavish toy deco. It took so much of its DNA from the original toy. Arguably, everything good about the MP line came from toy homage as opposed to sunbow wank.Surprise, surprise, toys make better toys than cartoons do.
>>10968746I've always preferred the yellow eyes on Optimus. Even in things like the comics it just looks better to me.
>>10968749yeah if nothing else, they REALLY go with the dark blue head. light blue eyes not only have trouble glowing visibly in anything but severe darkness, they don't stand out well at all with a gray face and dark blue head.blue eyes belong on a bot with like, a gold face and a purple helmet.
>>10968751I hated how BM gave everyone humanlike eyes with a colored iris and everything, even the fucking spider, but Primal's blue ones were the worst-looking of all. Gross. Blue eyes belong on cute girls, not tough guys. At most he should have had lavender eyes.
>>10968749I used to be autistic about blue eyes being autobots and red eyes being decepticons, but yellow eyes taught me that nothing is sacred. Also Magna Convoy's yellow eyes are fucking brilliant.
>>10968746i miss when MP wuz gud
>>10968756yeah Magna Convoy is awesome. as soon as I saw him, I knew I had to use that for my dark lio convoy repaint. Not only is it super nice looking, the colors go nicely on top of the existing colors...
>>10968746Everyone always complains about MP-10's proportions, but posed alongside G1 Prime, they make perfect sense.
>>10968767No they don't.
>>10968770fuck off tooner
>>10968767now that you mention it, the legs are kinda small aren't they. and that does evoke the original toy.
>>10968777everyone who complains about MP-10 is a hopeless tooner who thinks that 40-year-old animation errors are the peak of all aesthetic. Disregard them. They are nothing.
>>10968756So how did you deal with Shockwave?
>>10968424Nah fuck that, the Powerlinx gimmick is great and needs to stay for the Energon Autobots. All they need is ankle articulation and improvements in other areas like the hips. Waist joint is an impossibility just like the old toys but it's a small sacrifice for being able to swap around the Autobots shirt and pants mode.
>>10968746Agree, they do look great together

Now waiting for my second Towline copy to arrive.
>>10968880I just ordered one to...yesterday. I just realized I've been doing nothing important for so long the day changed. Passed on the original junkions, but this guy was cheapish on Pulse so might as well.
>>10968745I'm most curious about how they'll handle Megatron (and there's no way they won't do him). They have a no-more-gun policy in place for Megs, but given the nature of Missing Link, he needs to just be a modernized version of his G1 toy, which puts them in a predicament. If they're really making a line out of ML (or at least doing a handful of characters), skipping Megatron entirely to avoid the issue isn't going to be an option.
>>10968793>Waist joint is an impossibilityOnly if you're stupid
>>10968897Presumably they could just sell it in Japan region only like MP Megatron. Although I'm not sure that would be popular given Megatron's... quirks.

>>10968569>the absence of the diaclone soldiers.I was hoping Bee would come with a inchman Spike or something, to skip them entirely would be a shame.
>>10968901First bus former ever? lies.
>>10968899Asking for a waist joint in addition to that same waist joint splitting in half (for Hot Shot that is) on a roughly deluxe-voyager sized toy and with the budget Hasbro deals with these days it practically is impossible. If Armada Optimus Prime didn't get a waist joint in his core robot mode despite being a Commander I don't see the same happening for Hot Shot. Inferno is a maybe because he doesn't have to split his waist in half, Prowl doesn't even have a waist and Rodimus could.
>>10968897G2. As it should always be. The gun was a mistake in 84 and it's a mistake now.
>>10968324Scorponok with no exploding shoulders.>>10968360The old mold still holds up. Even has ankle tilts. Only thing a redo would have is an articulated cannon arm i guess.
>>10968946I like the gun, but an updated G2 Megatron would be cool and has easy repaint potential.
>>10968946>The gun was a mistake in 84 and it's a mistake now.I don't know. I always think of it as symbolic to Megatron's character g1.>he who fired the first shot
>>10968793did somebody say Powerlinx?
>>10968981This, I don't even understand the anti-gun people's point with Megatron. He's a bad guy, he's THE bad guy, he's KING of the bad guys, and he turns into a SCARY GUN, the ultimate violence-maker. Shouldn't antgunners be all over that, associating thing they don't like with "bad"?I just want a pistol Megatron because I think he looks cool, always did.
>>10969093Someone in a tank would easily kill someone with a handgun, even without firing.

>>10969120What if you had a little gun megatron that can then pilot a larger tank body a la Ultra Magnus? That way he could still have a larger more intimidating form for leading the Decepticons, but if that body got too injured he could then escape in a smaller form that could be used by the other guys?

>>10969294yep, that;s pretty much what I was thinking of when typing that out. Also TFA soundwave reverting to a G1-esque tapedeck form when his big van body gets destroyed(Which I really wanna see in toy form one day). I think stuff like that would be a really cool solution to characters with weird mass-shifting stuff that's otherwise impossible to replicate in toy form, just give them a more size-appropriate altmode and then a Minicon version of their smaller altmode as a little buddy/backup body. Heck you could even take it further and have minimegs able to pilot different bodies based on all the different altmodes he's had, could be cool
>>10969177i wonder if the teal jet ever feels like he doesn't fit in.even the teal, white, and pink cars at least are cars.>>10969161huh.. you're right.
>>10969248maybe not, but a walther p38 is a pretty cool gun. It's no Colt 1911, but definitely the coolest exposed-barrel gun. If Starscream was modeled after Lupin III, it'd be perfect. he'd pick him up and pose all stylishly and then the gun would transform back into megatron (Pops) and smack him for fooling around.
I always wondered how in depth discussions have gotten with the designers regarding a modern Megatron that "accidentally" turns into a gun. Like sure, it's only advertised as going from robot to tank/helicopter/starfucker but wouldn't you know it, by finagling it juuuuust right, boom, gun mode.Probably still too risky, but I'd imagine it's at least been brought up
>>10969294not a bad idea at all. just leave the gun instructions out and sneak it through.
>>10969374I mean yes, depending on the type of rape. cigarettes are cool too, it doesn't make them okay.kids are smart enough to understand that coolness is not justification for doing harm.
>>10969374Is he also the charismatic leader? if so, people can think its ok for him to rape, see the many religious cults on the US and arround the world with 40 something dudes "marring" minors.
>>10969401I guarantee someone has brought it up, but I wouldn't be shocked if the idea never made it above his supervisor.it's funny because hasbro regularly breaks all kinds of product regulations, but this one they're too chicken to risk.
>>10969399Umm actually he's a submarine
hey johhny, add this to the list of reasons for hating TFW2005!
>>10969406ooh I bet you're a lot of fun to talk to and be around.
>>10969401Considering how intentional altmodes look like crap, arranging Megatron into a roughly gun-like form seems okay.
>>10969398Isn't that just what Frenzy did in the movie? Was a boombox at a point, got decapitated and took a new altmode of a phone.
>>10969422he has had some pretty fuckin bad luck with altmodes, hasn't hecome to think of it, movie and Prime megatrons are both kinda begging to have the wings folded down and the nosecone forming a barrel (movie has some extra nacelles there but they could close up around it)
>>10969400>maybe not, but a walther p38 is a pretty cool gun. It's no Colt 1911, but definitely the coolest exposed-barrel gun. That was good.
>>10969423yeah but both of those modes were absolute cheats. he was very last-minute and had to fit human footage a lot, so they put less effort into him. for ages they were not sure which one was "soundwave with a little guy that comes out" and they ended up with several.
>>10969418Hey man, I didn't started the rape talk, but a couple days ago I saw a 40 hrs special about a fucker who made "his church" a raped an 11 yr old on Utah.

>>1096944048 hrs, its the name of the show not its lenght, kek, but yeah, there are fuckheads everywhere.
>>10969400Megatron's gun mode is fine on its own but the UNCLE accessories just bump him up to The Coolest. Thanks goodness for 80s era Takara giving no fucks about copyright
>>10969452though I have to question the usefulness of a scope on a pistol. but I guess with the shoulder stock, you could put it up to your eye.
>>10969452Technically I don't think you could copyright a specific gun with specific accessories. I mean, the Walther company could, but Man from UNCLE couldn't. at best they could attempt to trademark it. Or.. did you mean Walther.
I designed a 100% 86 MOVIE ACCURATE MEGATRON that solves the gun problem.Chest and back open down so you can rotate the head inside the body as another one comes up (think of the original Waspinator toy), but the chest panel also rotates 180 degrees with a mushroom peg hidden inside that is connected to the top of the hinge that is used to open it, before closing it again.Yes, you go from Megatron at the beginning of the movie to Megatron all banged and fucked up. I'm fucking a genious. But in all seriousness, I actually would prefer some stupid shit like this than an alt mode that makes no sense for the character. At the very least it makes for a good novelty item and he can look like the best action figure of G1 Megatron ever.
>>10969417Dunno why but I love how often hobby forums are full of these weird divorced dudes with life stories that'd easily get turned into a 50-episode TV dramas, just casually roaming around
>>10969417What could even compel you post this on a Transformers forum
>>10969417Aha gotcha!
>>10969471Just include the same non transform gun prop that came in the Centurion drone pack, there you have a propoer altmode on the right scale for hardcore fans, Megs can have his Devastation tank mode as long as they nail the g1 robot mode.Battle damage version will be sold with an all grey Starscream.

>>10969499i dunno, he's gotten some good toys and even a couple good movie toys
>>10969482>Hey Hasbro, you aren't going to make me a recolor of Cyberverse Prowl, right?
Megatron's Gun Mode was a problem by 1992 and it's only gotten worse since Classics. Go look at Nerf guns. Walmart calls the shots and they clamped down on guns over 5 years ago. Classics colors aren't enough. Go look at the potential reissue Megatron. It was in Galvatron colors / G2 Hero Megatron and TRU said no. The Legends class gun is a no-go now since guns that small can be made. There is no way to actually make Megatron a gun and all the original toy's design really does is hinder future toys.
>>10969509Looking at Nerf products on Walmart's site, a lot of them look like they can be understood as guns. Just have blue/green/orange colors.
>>10969265>bootlegsActual bootlegs? Because there were legit Marvel (and Star Wars) Transformers. Some were good but some were crap, on account of not being designed by the normal TF team.
>>10969516really? nerf has gotten cooler? that's good news.
>>10969516Yeah. That's the point and why even Classics Megatron is a no no now. It's gray, a 'realistic gun color' according to Walmart's restrictions. Now Classics painted as G2 Megatron? Entirely bright green and purple? Might be able to get that through.
>>10969518I imagine anon means the ones that were not transformers-branded, the ones that were dumb and made no sense..
>>10969531hopefully more balls exist in the futuredoubt it though. we're kinda going into a spiral I don't see us ever coming out from. There will be no Marvel in the 60s ditching the Comics Code moments.
>>10969531Realistic colors are boring to be fair. Why everyone hates the old Bayformers movies where the cast was like 60% grey.
>>10969531Isn't Classics Megatron the colors he is because G1 colors wouldn't fly? I read something about the solicitations for the toy being G1 colors but changed when it was shown off.
>>10969539And anon is saying that in the 18 years since restrictions have gotten even tighter

>>10969499Hmm, i could sorta see it. Works better as a Drift than Prowl at least. I feel like Drift's position as the goofy over the top weeb OC got supplanted by Windblade for a bit, but now that she's not being pushed so hard I can see them coexisting, just have them play more into their niches, with Drift being more the wandering swordsman guy and Windblade playing more into the magical girl shtick
>>10969547right, all those red-blooded gun-toting small-government-wanting americans are totally terrorist-aligned. that's why they're so eager to welcome those people to our country.
>>10969549Yes. They want the guns to they can establish Cobra.
>>10969518That Tank Hulk always looked really cool to me, just as a new character or something>>10969533Is that supposed to be a Wolverine that turns into a wolverine? Like a Werewolverine? >>10969554>Is this the same line as that Punisher figure with the dick-gun?i believe so, yes. 'marvel shapeshifters'gotta admit it's an.. unusual transformation.. having the paws fold out from the feet .. but it's funny how both modes get far too short a torso.
>>10969452amen
>>10968701I like it a lot. It ain't perfect--mine has an accuracy enriching scuff on the chest/roof where it's painted--but it's fun. I like it enough that I would gladly double-dip if they repurposed the mold into something else. Throw a Sideswipe head on it and I'd buy it. It's way better than the Gamer Edition Sideswipe.
>>10969566I have the GE Sideswipe as well and, ankles up, he's a fine figure.Only other complaint I have about him is the side panel clearance leaves much to be desired. And I'm not overly fond of how he can't hold his gun normally.
>>10969565Picture unrelated? They even shoved the Skyfire episodes to the end of the series because they were concerned about advertising competing product in Japan despite his design being heavily arranged from the toy Jetfire.
>>10969468I mean that the Gun Robo that Megatron was sold as in Microchange was specifically labeled as the UNCLE version
>>10969571yeah this was HASBRO giving no fucks
>>10969581oh holy shit, i did not know that.that is.. brazen.
>>10969570>he's a fine figure. It's okay. Better than the others so far. There's just something about it that doesn't quite work for me; it's not just the feet. I think it's the way so much of the car hangs off his back. Much like the other WFC/FOC figures I appreciate the overall shape and feel of the vehicle mode, though. It's not a terrible toy, but I feel like it's benefiting a little too much from low standards.
>>109695382007>Autobots were all colorful consisting of red and blue, yellow/orange and black, and neon green with red/yellow, besides Jazz being silver and Ironhide being black. Decepticons were mostly beige, black and white, or even olive, with only Megatron being silver.RotF>Sideswipe was silver, Jetfire was black+red, bikes were magenta, purple and blue, twins went from pink+white to green and orange. Constructicons were yellow, red, and green, with only Mixmaster being black and silver. Fallen was black with teal and orange accents, while Stars of Cream got some black tatts.DotM>Shockwave was apparently purple but appeared gray/gunmetal in the film's lighting, Sentinel was red and black, Soundwave was silver and the generics were all gray/black. Optimus got a big gray jetpack and Megatron got some beige added to him, while Ratchet got some white but a more vivid green in his new colorscheme. Film overall was going for a bleak tone, which could explain the increase in black.I think this just says beige was extremely popular instead tbdesu, lol
>>10969482>>10969489pretty much what I'm repurposing him as. I will say I'm fucking tired of re-using fucking Cyberverse toys though. I'm scared the next show will reuse Earthspark stuff or be even cheaper looking but some how cost $20+ because Hasbro.

>>10969611Beige is the most aesthetic robot color, FACT!!!
>>10969611i dont recall any red on jetfire>>10969538i liked how decepticons seemed.. shall we say, 'unpainted' overall. The ones without earth modes especially. And then the dinobots continued that, the suggestion being that metal-color guys is their natural form, but they take on stuff when they get earth modes (also pretty sure 'protoform' optimus was all one color and had more alienish feet than after he scanned the truck?)buuut it would be nice if they had a little more splashes of color. not too much, just some. The dinobots really felt inspired by Zoids Wild, and those guys had nicely balanced colors.

Huh. The mockup before molding has not just more areas painted, but the way the forearms were treated changed what they represent on Vector Prime. Since Jhiaxus has 5mm pegs, you could make attachments for there, although you would need to repaint the plastic on the forearms to look like the old forearms. Highest priority should be the shins though. Vector Prime's transformation has an additional twist compared to Jhiaxus since his robot mode chest ends up on the underside of the vehicle instead. Because it ends up upside down compared to the original, you couldn't a more accurate robot mode by cutting that in half, with the closest just being unfolding the backpack. Also it is funny looking at Jhiaxus again. There are a good number of yellow bits that are difficult to understand if they are discoloration or just sloppy paint applications based on their position.
>>10969707oh that's right, red piping. Beautiful bird, that.
>>10969242>>10969370>>10969377>main villain having the sidekick power is coolYou are some stupid fuckers. Turning into a gun that other bots use is a support role. It's GoldyMarg, the assist character, because the hero turning into a weapon for someone else is lame as hell. The same principle applies to villains. Megatron's the leader. It should be Starscream or Soundwave turning into a gun for HIM, not the other way around.

>>10969800Even though I'm not thrilled that Vector Prime is a retooled Jihaxus because he's in Wave 3 and that the original toy still looks best for obvious reasons I gotta say they at least they remembered to give him some Mini-con pegs. And considering his wings can probably be positioned on top of his shoulders that would give him wing-mounted Mini-con shoulder weapons. Gonna try that out once I get him.
>>10969900>Beast Machines SilverboltWas about to get the mold for that custom, but it is tiny, guess it could work with mcdonalds toys but for the mainline it needs to be a voyager.

>>10969900I like it. That mold is really great in general, and it certainly looks more like his beast mode than his actual toy did (then again, I'm still not convinced that toy was ever intended to be a condor to begin with).

>>10969900ahhh charged particle beam guns, one of my favorites. that totally tracks then. No need for ammo, just a method of either charging particles or gathering existing charged particles. Presumably that big backpack he's got houses that unit.hang on, where are the grenade launcher (180mm? that's massive) and flamethrower kept? and what about that rocket pod on his shoulder, that's clearly holding six rockets.

Like he's got most of the details right and they're all in the right spots but they don't really fit together as a whole, and the Vector Prime bits kinda clash with the Jhiaxus bits. At least the Jhiaxus mold is pretty good but man...

>>10969982you can think what you think, mate, but I don't think you'll get a lot of backup
>>10969982NTA, but nah - I liked how campy and cheesy he was in BW. It was a part of how fucked up he actually was - each Fuzor embodied a specific personality trait or ideal to the extreme end of the spectrum, with Quickstrike being obsessed with murder regardless of which side he was killing, and Silverbolt becoming obsessed with chivalry to others (again, with no regard to which side he was being chivalrous to, hence why he needed to 'save' Blackarachnia as his damsel in distress despite the fact that she repeatedly rejected him initially). That even the other Maximals were often looking at him as if he were crazy was proof that his behavior wasn't considered normal even in the context of the series - there was something wrong in his head, and we didn't get to see what a 'fixed' version of him looked like until his spark ended up in a non-fucked up body in BM.
>>10969976People keep saying Beast Machines suck but a lot of elements that were either introduced or further developed there became part of the general transformers lore.

>>10969972I love you guys. I never imagined anyone else thought about these things
>>10969973the specs state the grenade launcher, flamethrower, machine gun and a laser gun is part of an armament cluster, and if you look at the Tomahawk's abdomen, there are 2 clusters of those guns there, not to mention the 2 machine guns mounted on the head. As for the missile pod on it's shoulder, I just got the specs from a wiki so maybe it was overlooked by whoever edited it?
>>10970002like what? the well of all sparks? the name 'allspark' has never meant that again.>>10970021oh fuck me, i understood that the first time I read it, and the second through nineteenth times somehow I forgot.those gun pods also kinda look like they have missiles above them, but probably not. man i love mecha so much.

>>10969984Its not tho. If you care about screen accuracy at all whatsoever, the SS is the natural choice
>>10969581There's an argument to be made that Megatron wasn't even the best of the Micro Change gun toys, but I still like gun Megatron more than the alternatives. A tank or a jet or whatever works better in fiction though.
>>10970036well how do you do, I was rightso those AND the shoulder-mounted one are both not listed on this wiki
>>10970038the browning guy definitely has his charm. Would have been interesting if these two had been the lackeys of the next logical leader (Soundwave) and you'd see him dual wielding them in battle.or perhaps, if they were somehow co-leaders. I don't think I've ever seen a saturday morning show with two equal-partner co-leaders on the bad side. Kinda sends the wrong message if they're able to cooperate so well. There's jovial lackeys for sure, the Iagos of the world, and that computer guy from captain planet who assisted the hot chick with hair over one eye, but never like two equal dudes.
>>10970025For starters, the concept of Sparks in general was invented by Beast Wars/Beast Machines.
>>10970037Yea but it's not accurate at all to the movie cause she didn't transformAnd it's a Kingdom Airrazor remold and sucksAnd it's ugly

>>10970074that's one HELL of a slash, anon. especially given that the discussion at hand is BM separate from BW

>>10970098Holy shit that's fucking sick, what the FUCKI really wish these guys and the junkions had character bios, even if it was just something posted unofficially by Mark on his social media or something. I would care so much more if they had a basis for a personality I could attach to them.
>>10970101>the junkionsI think of them as sort of Three Stooges style trio. A brotherhood of bumbling bounty hunters, largely autobot aligned. When they chase down their target they tend to crash into each other and get all mashed together. The slapstick humor largely coming from them having to make due with whatever wacky configuration they find themselves in.

>>10970099BM is the conclusion to BW, they go together
>>10970145so your position on the current discussion of BM being worse than BW is that they aren't two separate thingsvery helpful, anon, thanks for contributing.
>>10970146Not what I said and I'm also not the original guy you were replying to. I just wanted to state that. G1, Beast Wars and Beast Machines are a trilogy.
>>10970155cool. we knew that already, but cool
>>10970155>G1, Beast Wars and Beast Machines are a trilogy.Well... no, they aren't, actually.BW is a not a direct sequel to any particular G1 series. It forms its own G1 backstory by taking bits and pieces of both the G1 cartoon and Marvel comics, and mixes in some stuff it just makes up on its own. BW is canonically a separate universe from anything before it.
>>10970128Lmao that's a hilarious idea, also real great combination there. Are these all your creations?
>>10970161Something I really like about BW is its approach to that, tho; the way it tackles explicit continuity with G1 is indeed by taking from both, but also only taking elements that could *reasonably* be believed to exist in both, if via retcons. Sort of like how '84: Secrets and Lies showed Sparks existing in Marvel, despite the concept not existing back then - technically they could have existed all this time in-continuity, just that they coincidentally never mentioned them explicitly back then.
>>10970162Nah the junkion pic is just one I found in these threads
>>10970161the wiki (asinine as it is, do not read the jAaM article if you don't want to get super fucking angry, and steer the fuck clear of its talk page) has this good concept of like, adjacent universes.. micro-universes.. so like, if the packaging on a beast wars toy says some shit that isn't canon to beast wars, it is its own wee canon.BW is like that to G1. it has a lot of its own shit, but in fairness, G1 contradicts itself constantly.>>10970166what's amazing to me is they weren't sure at first if they wanted to or would be allowed to, and then when they did, they... didn't actually know any g1 lore, and had to sorta cobble it together. apparently their 'great war' was just conceived as a vague concept that turned out to fit G1 nicely.

I’m hoping the trailer will be compatible, since I’d imagine it would be more decked out on a commander class budget (I’m hoping it has as much unnecessary bullshit as MP44). The Volvo Optimus with a more advanced trailer would be the definitive Optimus in my eyes.

>>10970384He near-missed a few times, but the situation seems ideal. Lots of recent Leader classes are Voyager height to accommodate their mechanics, so he could have both his inner and outer bodies fully transforming. Alternatively he could be a Commander to have a size advantage, but that seems crowded for combiners unless he is SS somehow.

>>10968171>>10968184I hate it. Ugly as fuck. Terrible aesthetic and a shit alt mode. Arguably the worst Optimus Prime figure we've gotten in a while.

I can't believe they're ending the MP line without a JazzSS86 is near perfect; just size him up, tweak his shape to the real Porsche.Fuck. This physically pains me.How are they going to fill out all of my G1 Autobuds and not include my favorite!?
>>10970512>I can't believe they're ending the MP line without a JazzThey're not ending anything. Why do people keep saying that? What part of "we're fusing both lines into one" makes people think the MP line is dead?

>>10970539some plastic colors changed
>>10970539Looks like the hands, feet, and shoulder ball joints are all on unpaintable nyon so it was an all or nothing choice.
>everywhere in my area people are buying the repackaged Gnaw but won't touch WFC Sideswipe or BB Sunstreaker Are the molds that bad or is this just usual people only buy G1 and Bay films?
>>10970481Jetfire is commander class on his size alone. It's molds and parts counts that effect class point and little else. >>10970528It all depends on what they want to make and at what cost. You could do a Voyager size with a core but the cost would likely be leader for all the parts and costs and you might have a Legacy Pointblank situation where a lot is sacrificed to make it work at that cost
>>10970563WFC Sideswipe is decent from the ankles-up, his feet are disappointing but I dunno what they really could've done I'll be honest. BB Sunstreaker is also supposedly good, but i haven't paid attention; I don't like the BBM/RotB designs at all. They're all bland to me. Dunno if I speak to the majority or not, though.
>>10970569Needlenose has two gun guys and he has rotating wrists. They must have done something really dumb with Pointblank to end up like that.
This is easily one of the nicest looking transformers I've ever played around with
>>10970539>wtf is happeningMurican collectors are scared of clear plastic.
>>10970575Needlenose also has a very simple Transformation with fewer extra parts needed. It's not always size otherwise Cosmos would not have been short packed and so limited.
>>10970512Missing Link Jazz would be pretty great and enough for me. The original toy is already very good. I know that's not the answer MP diehards want, but there are some supposedly good 3P options out there.
>>10970325But where the FUCK are my Hero colors!? I don't care if the legs are technically backwards, just do it already, Hasbro!
>>10970576It's a fantastic action figure but a lousy transformer.
>>10970563>repackaged Gnaw but won't touch WFC Sideswipe or BB SunstreakerBB Sunstreaker is good. It could use more paint and the paint that's there can be a bit shit in the usual Hasbro fashion (I wish they'd stop painting transparent plastic and go back to using transparent inserts more) but it's solid. The vehicle mode is a little dodgy from the side but the overall shape is nice and the transformation has some clever bits and is fun. I wouldn't mind it if it got a retool into somebody else.Sideswipe is okay. The best of the GE WFC figures so far maybe, especially relative to the originals. If it's a sign of improvement I hope we get FOC stuff since the original line was such a mess, and I like that Optimus design in particular.
Just saw this. Looks way too clean for a 2024 transformer. What’s the catch?
>>10970626Got cancelled in China due to the Japanese flag.
>>10970626Big cost.
woah he's like, old deluxe height
>>10970637That's surprising. I still think this figure looks pretty good.
>>10970576I wish he'd show up around here already
>>10970626Voyager scaled in robot mode
>>10970645I liked it pretty much from the get-go, only thing I wasn't keen on was the landlord beige instead of grey, but I'm starting to warm up to it. It definitely looks a lot better in natural light too. It's gonna be funny to see comparisons with Gamer Edition Optimus considering that figure is only barely taller than the old deluxe
>>10970663I love the slight metallic beige. I wish there was more going on in the torso/forearms (and a blue energon axe doesn't pop), but it's fine. Unless the transformation is a disaster it looks like an easy buy for me, regardless of how the movie is.
>>10970626thought this was a Big Trak from the thumbnail
>>10970276it's not an abbreviation, it's a comical way of writing the word jam
$1 Thrift store faux alt mode for Blitzwing m, yes please! Even has 40th anniversary tampos lolIts kind of freeing that triple changers’ toys dont have to actually be triple changers anymore ala Shatter and Dropkick. When exactly did that start? AoE Drift?
Now that we’re getting Clench in Swapticons, how before we get new Thunderclash and Pyro?
>>10970682They gave up for the live-action ones because they have to have actual vehicle modes instead of vague bullshit. Even though Drift himself has a vague bullshit helicopter mode.
>>10970684Conisdering that it is gimmick figure that is just to be an Ultra Magnus repaint who in turn is there because he is similar to Optimus Prime, probably many years away if you authentic looking versions of them. Maybe some retailer exclusive line could do recolors of Stunticons as the Turbomasters or Inferno as Pyro.
>>10970412anon, analyze how this began again>someone asks question>the wiki has an answer>but i acknowledge the wiki is a terrible place, and advise you NOT to read infuriating articles ruined by shitheads
>>10970694Neither Thunderclash nor Pyro were repaints of, or shared gimmicks with Ultra Magnus
>>10970700Optimus Prime <-> Ultra MagnusNemesis Prime <-> ClenchIt is not going to be an accurate Clench, and unlikely to be an accurate Ultra Mangus to begin with. Thunderclash and Pyro are even farther off since they aren't being used for Swapticons, and just exist as popular European-region toys.
Huh
How much was MSRP to assemble Studio Series Devastator? Why does he have two options for one of his limbs? How much should I be paying today for a used copy? Odds on the box set ever getting reissued?
>>10970539looks like two completely different molds? not sure your point.we should not be infecting japan with this garbage.
>>10970716Because there were more Constructicons in the movie than were used in making Devastator (Rampage was a guy who fought and was killed by Bumblebee). Interestingly they haven't actually made Rampage yet despite being the one that actually transformed and had lines compared to the vehicle-only fodder for Devastator Scavenger.
>>10970725*DemolishorSorry, I changed the post heavily, but missed that.
>>10970468LolLmao evenThat's FAR from the worst prime we've gotten

>>10970733I heard the issue was with the cleaning materials, so by now must have changed.
>>10970637The biggest issue with this is that the vehicle mode is somewhat shit. Otherwise it looks good, but that's a pretty big compromise that I'm getting tired of seeing with Transformers.
>>10970739Cybertron-type vehicle modes have been shit since the first episode of the TV show. Don't bother fighting against those, just the ones that are allegedly Earth vehicles.
>>10970539>US Prowl isn't allowed to be a car anymoreI know the Americans don't like cops but holy shit that's funny
>>10970744Even Cybertronian alt modes can and have been better, though. I don't even mean "might as well be an Earth vehicle" modes like Siege Sideswipe's, but figures like the Bumblebee movie toys or WFC/FOC alt modes. This Optimus just has his arms hanging from the sides with exposed fists and very little effort put into the back of the truck in general. It's still tolerable but it ain't great.
>>10970747At first I thought it was because they reused Cyberverse Prowl recently, but that was the one-step instead of the deluxe.
>>10970747I mean Hasbro is primarily a left leaning company and probably dictates a lot of stuffThey cuck out A LOT on stuff
>>10970751Wouldn't the easier option just to have not used Prowl then?
>>10970716I still need a Scrapmetal, Overload, and Long Haul to complete mineI'll even take recolors

>>10970789the one with Orange Lavaburst Tarantulas?
>>10970716>Why does he have two options for one of his limbs? The Constructicons in Bayverse are generics. There isn't just one cement mixer guy or one excavator guy, there's multiple of them. Most body types used the same colour scheme, but some didn't.Two guys turned into a large excavator:- Demolishor, the white one at the start of the movie in China. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTCEckwafU4)- Scavenger, the red one that combined into Devastator. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-u5CTkgJVgA)Two guys turned into a bulldozer:- Rampage, the red one that fought Bumblebee (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flsyH12YdSQ)- Skipjack, the yellow one that combined into Devastator. For the toys, some colours and names got switched around over the years. The Studio Series Constructicons made both Rampage and Skipjack to give people the option of owning the guy Bumblebee fought or having a (more) screen accurate Devastator.
>>10970789I think you're being robbed, anon.

>>10971189... did they DO a reissue??I see zero reason to get him when the new version is so great. Well his missile actually fires, so there's that. and has that fun string so you can make him hang from it like he's climbing...but i mean, his hands are molded to be hollow when facing the way they typically face, so..
>>10971189>>10971192They did for 20th anniv, I should have gotten him instead of Dinobot, but I still have no other Dinobot so maybe it worked out.But yeah, his actual grappling hook that functions in both modes looks like it would be really really fun.>hollow handsIt's where he can keep his drinks, or evil plans.
>>10971130The base toy is a little mediocre without the combining gimmick. Outside the Super mode I've always thought PMOP was a little underwhelming with the whole face of the truck on the robot back and the conspicuous diaper.

>>10971339why hasn't anyone broken into those people's houses yeteither they won't call the cops and you can take all their transformers, or they will, and you can point and laugh at their hypocrisy.
>>10971189He's made of majorly translucent plastic. I've noticed cracks on my 10th anniversary one, in areas that aren't subject to stresses. The 10th anniversary one also has the hands on backwards, so you have to switch them around. They're also translucent plastic, so switching them may crack the ball joint cups.
>>10971339Except, you know, all the times recently where he was a cop car. Stop talking out your ass.
>>10971345Entering a house is a terrible idea. People will defend their territory.
>>10971353these people sure as fuck won't.
Why is Hasbro so shit at making Power Rangers sell? It should be zero effort money printing.
>>10971358well if you hurt the dog, yeah. animal rights are the only kind they recognize.>>10971360right? I mean, it's gotta be kind of awkward when there's like 30 teams and only the first three or so are relevant with collectors, but only the most recent is gonna be relevant with kids.. but then hasbro stopped making more power rangers tv shows, so what are they gonna tie it in with?
Why did they do jackshit with this remold? I would have bought "TM Tigatron".
>>10971365ehh the mold would be a pretty unconvincing tiger even with that head (which is wayyy too small) and he wouldn't look much like a transmetal in beast mode. plus he'd be smaller than regular tigatron (albeit not by much) so that's a tough sell.
>>10971362Doing random releases that result in many incomplete teams and making double/tripling up on what should have been included in first release.
>>10971366The after market for this figure is awful I'm down for a shiddy remake or a 3p.
>>10971369that is pretty dumbthere's another hurdle with PR which is that, ideally, you want the monsters to be able to face both the rangers and the zords... but zords work best at a wayyy larger size. Like even 1:6 scale figures would seem a little shrimpy compared to how big the zords oughtta be. So what do you do, make two sizes of the monster characters? or just leave the zords with almost nobody to fight?
>>10971371surely there's a 3P of this. given that there's one for tm cheetor and one of ravage based on that. they wouldn't have NOT made tigatron.
>>10971371This looks awful.
>>10971378i never noticed the elbows are so emptythe rest of it though, I like, the beast mode on the other hand, less so. the legs pull that "throw a bend in the middle of the robot shin" thing which has never worked.
>>10971378No, THIS is awful.
>>10971391this was such a tragedy
>>10971391That is worse than awful.
>>10971391>it's a real, official releaseWhat the fuck -they literally released a toy with THAT sorry excuse for a head and thought it was okay? I thought it was a poorly made custom/3rd party thing until I looked it up. What on Earth were they thinking - that thing looks horrible no matter what angle you look at it from.
>>10971409technically it's... second party? It's a convention exclusive that they designed themselves, somehow. apparently back then they were actually able to do that.
>>10971409Funpub gets their own guys to make heads for exclusives. Results are...
>>10971411The second party is the consumer. You are the second party.>>10971391>>10971409It's bad, but it has a reason: the space to store the head on that toy is very small, so they had to do that flat head to make it fit.Why they chose to use that mold in the first place, however, is a mystery.
>>10971423oh rightone and a halfth party then?ohhh is THAT the reason. I mean it is comically undersized even if it were the right thickness, so that's not a shock I guess.
>>10971432Third party. A third party sculpted the heads for the Fun Pub-assciociated releases."Third party" does not automatically mean "unofficial". It simply means someone other than the primary producer is making the product. There are official third party Transformers products, made under license from Hasbro, such as the Flame Toys model kits.Technically, nearly all of Transformers fiction is third party.
>>10971409This was an issue with a lot of the later botcon toys. Mismatched/wonky headsReally making Botcon characters variations of existing ones was a mistake. I'm sure they sold better because now you NEEDED a Botcon set to complete a collection, but steadily Classics/Generations made it unnecessary. Just doing redecoes and making them new characters felt more special. I don't remember what was the Botcon exclusive set in 2011 but I remember all the 90's ones even though I only knew of them initially as a kid in the 2000's looking them up online.
>>10971391>>10971409
>>10971437you do realize how this is different from every other use of third party though, even if that is accurate. it really should have its own termwhat if two and a halfth party
>>10971409>and thought it was okay? They didn't. Some of the FunPub guys in charge of Botcon openly admit something went terribly wrong somewhere along the way with this figure. A lot of the Botcon/Club figures were great, but for whatever reason, multiple notable ones had new tooling for heads that turned out bad (ie: Metalhawk, Punch/Counterpunch, Tigatron here and his mold-mate as Ravage), which they at least acknowledge. But they probably should've offered this figure at a steep discount because of it.
>>10971365Look at those shitty elbows and derpy face, just buy the transart version.
>>10971365It was an attempt, but they should've waited until there was the right mold to retool/repaint, same as with SG Scream, SG Megatron and SG Goldbug.
>>10971297Thought it was Grimlock for a sec.
>>10971447>which they at least acknowledge>Punch/CounterpunchNobody knew about his encounter with head shrinkers until he was already in hand.
>>10971446How about we instead call "3rd party" for what they are, bootlegs and knock offs.
>>10971446what if you shut the fuck up and stop being an idiot
DECEPTICONS FOREVER.
BEAST ballz Anyone know if there was a crab bakugan?
>>10971365>the only current in-print Ravage cassette is buying this setfuck off
>>10971580Not true. You could also buy the Retro Soundwave as well as the GI Joe Soundwave. Both come with Ravages (G1 and Masterpiece respectively)
>>10971371I saw how much he goes for and I feel like a fucking idiot who bought this as a kid and just have him in a bin somewhere in my parents' house.
This mould is so much fun
Am continuing my TF media binge, I don't have much left to me that I haven't seen before yet. Which of the following should I tackle after I finish watching Rescue Bots and reading Dreamwave soon:>All the JPG1 shows/OVAs>Beast Machines and/or the 3H comics>RiD'15>The Last Knight>Everything FunPub that wasn't SG or GoBots>IDW-2>Titan Movie comics
>>10971628You like Batman Beyond? RID15 feels like that due to Will Friedle voicing Bee
>>10966995Update I just won an auction for Tidal Wave lol
>>10971629>RID15 feels like that due to Will Friedle voicing BeeNo it doesn't you fucking liar. Batman Beyond was actually well-written and interesting. RID 15 was not. Hope this helps.
Nah don't listen to the nigger above. RID15 is the one TF show that actually concludes its plot threads instead of leaving loose ends all over.
>>10971629Most the episodes of RiD15 take place in the day, no one gets killed off, and doesn't have the oppressive future end of century vibe. Maybe if they had the show set on Cybertron the whole time it could have been that.
>>10970284I wish this guy had a little more remolding going on or extra armor, I kinda like him. I've looked up upgrade kits but they're a hassle to get for me.
>>10971649Sure but that's all superficial. RID'15 Bee is a young warrior finding his footing while inheriting a mantle. In S2 especially his leadership style comes into conflict with OP's old ways which is similar to the dynamic between Terry and old Bruce. If you only care about the visuals just watch bayformers lol.
>current collection goal catchup nearing completion >everythint left is $50+ deluxes and up This is where the fun stops…
>>10970808X-treme Nacho Cheese Tarantulas isn't prototype colors no matter what Hasbro saysYou're allowing yourself to be gaslit into thinking translucent amber-orange is the same as cheeto orange
Robots in disguise?
>>10971674cheetos isn't real powdered cheetahs so the only being gaslit is (you) the dumb snack consumer
>>10971566Kinda? There was this guy, I have him in gray but I know picrel and a red one exist.
>>10971660Aesthetics and anti-establishment are the defining aspects of cyberpunk.
>>10971721Bro I've already explained to you that the comparison to Batman Beyond was referring to the character's development and relationships, not the superficial things. You're the one that brought up the cyberpunk nonsense. There is no argument happening here we're talking on different frequencies. Also>anti-establishmentSounds like you didn't watch Batman Beyond either.
Isn't there an actual general for Bakugan instead of posting off-topic garbage here?
>>10971683wtf is this true?!?
>>10971749No. Cheetos are made up.
>>10971566>Using Pteraxadon for Terrorsaur instead of SG FireglideMissed opportunity.
>>10971762That requires buying Flamewar.
>>10971768Yes, and? If you don't already own either of her Botcon exclusive versions, there's really no reason not to - it's not like we're getting another toy of her any time soon.
>>10971747Probably
>>10971768And no one wants to buy SG Flamewar because of Fireglide driving up the priceAlso the mold isn't very popular
>>10971681Retake the picture but be less retarded
>>10971768I still need a Flare-Up from her.
If He-Man collars with Transformers, I wonder what they’ll make? While MOTU is famously known, the vehicles weren’t iconic to the point memorable. Like a Thunder Tank or Party Wagon/Turtle Van.
For 5$ I got RGB lamp in Action, I like it.
>>10971818
>>10971824
>>10971772Flamewar stocks are going up, so she will probably be in a movie or tv show within four years.
>>10971817Seems like a bad idea. Hot Wheels is more popular and compatible with Transformers since it is about cars.
>>10971583M8, no one's believing you that you bought that as a kid.
Why are boxes so strangely shaped anyway?
>>10971892NTA, but you know they used to literally give specific Botcon exclusives to kids who walked in, I had my parents order imports for me online off BBTS(yes I know) and other sites. Yeah they were expensive but so were video games.Hell I buy MP TFs for my nephew as Bday gifts.
The latest in what must be a concerted effort to reissue a shitload of Optimuses;MPM-12 Optimus is up for preorder on Pulse
>>10971817>If He-Man collars with Transformers, I wonder what they’ll make?Opti-Man and Skeletron.
>>10971915Good idea. Maybe they still have the trademark for Skeletron.
>>10971923Wait, it looks like this is a licensed property. Maybe someone else owns the name.
>>10971490oh i guarantee they'll do that tooand they won't fix any of the dumbness of transmetal cheetor, give him real hands or anything..
>>10971892Lmao why would I lie about that? I asked my dad if he would order it off of eBay when I was in high school for my birthday. I wanted it because I couldn't get Ravage at the time.
>>10971566damn those actually look pretty good. like better than beastbox kinda.>>10971584i enjoyed playing with him a whole damn lot>upside-down modeholy shit never thought of thatis the blue one japanese? >>10971584Marvellous Mantis Men>>10971892The OTFCC site/store was literally called out on the back of all retail TF packaging back in the day

>>10971945Rippersnapper, Sinnertwin, Blot and Cutthroat, the limbs of Abominus.
>>10968889Just got mine, this mold works well for the twins, now to look for a combined altmode.
>>10971949ohhh got it, yes yes. I see them now.
>>10971939>upside-down mode>holy shit never thought of thatHaha, I’ll confess I wasn’t being that creative, just experimenting with whatever free-standing poses I could pull off - I didn’t think about the fact that his other head makes for a funny alternate robot until you said.>is the blue one japanese? I can't decide which i like betterIt is! …and neither can I, lol. The I prefer the purple colour scheme but both the blue plastic and blue paint are prettier in hand.>that said, the disk launching thing does kinda get in the way and is not necessary or right for a mantis. They are random, but at least they’re both fun and removeable, and anything that lets a character tell his enemies to Suck My Disk is a win in my book.>>10971943Too right!

>>10971693Good to know, gen1 stuff are little hard to look up.I also did some searching and apparently gen3 has a new 'Butterclaw' crab. Still not sure what to do about a mini-Rattrap. Maybe I should try finding a Silverbolt too since Bakugan seems to like doing made-up creatures.
