I’ve considered many times making either my house, work, or high school into a lego set but always stop myself because I’d never be able to stop finding little things to change to make it more accurate to the point it’d never be done. Anyone else ever build something like this?
>>10966540I’m pretty sure in the video he references friends many times. He makes sure to say hi to his “friends” and coach. It’s been a long while since I’ve seen this and many many keks sirs!

>>10965721>Quit holding out on us I wanna see some of those sweet pirates or how that boardwalk is looking anon.Nothing new on that front I am afraid. I was thinking of sitting down and building the second half of those brown parts I got and make more boardwalk, but nothing yet. I'm leaning towards building this second Dollar Tree car set I bought to see all the parts within it. I'll have a half hour or so later to chill, so I think I'll do that. I've been doing more reading and less bricks. Only so much time, you know? I put up some videos on Conan comics if you were interested in that.Appreciate the kind words about the builds and my vibe though. Hopefully more Pirates will be in my future, as that's the theme I'm mostly a fan of.
>>10967852Oh dude I watched those already I like your style and you’re a rarity in my experience on a lot of fronts. Truly you are a renaissance man and I’m glad you're doing well. I really do enjoy your comics and the new Conan stuff has been great I like how you go through things and flip the pages and go back. I can tell you enjoy what you’re reading and I’ve been wanting to get back into comics now. Free comic day is around the corner I’ll try to pick up a Conan or Godzilla in your honor. You legitimately knowledgeable and unpretentious and I hope you keep doing you man. I have to wait a while to see if the kid notices it’s missing but I have this and it’s yours for the moc if I can get away with stealing it and get it to you. God speed goodfren!

>>10967144The fact that scalpers make bank is strange to me, especially when the time it takes to box and organize and ship all this product must be quite a bit.
>>10963441Pile of loot plus only getting things that are at MSRP or close. They do have crazy markup on a lot of things, but not everything.
>>10965219Those are bootlegs dude.
>>10965383That only helps if you live near an Ollie's. I'm a mile from the ocean but several states stand between my address and any Ollie's stores. My best bet for ANY kind of dirt cheap toys is hitting a mess of Ross and Big Lots.
>>10967212Most scalpers don't, the amount you have to move to break even usually causes them to drown in stock. GIJoe scalpers are a great example of this, most of them are sitting on stashes of figures, a figure of the character Serpentor soldout fast and most collectors don't have one, but there are thousands on ebay all asking for 180+ for a figure that cost 60.
Pokémon General
>>10967156IIRC the pokemon figures were originally made by a company called WCT, before they got acquired by Jazwares. WCT was a small company so they couldnt afford to do their own manufacturing, so they contracted some random factories who then produced additional products to sell as "bootlegs." So basically the bootlegs are sold by the guys who originally made the first couple of figures
>>10967631Strange that TPCi trusted said small company. WCT didn't really have much of note, and Tomy USA was already doing great to some degree. Some later figures would get gummy, but they always had a set plan every year, up until the best quality final evo starters
What happened to Entei though.
>>10967638It's because the company was small enough that they bought a stake in it and so would be on the board. At the time we assumed this would help products get out quicker with what's happening in media and games, and maybe it did, but all I remember is the massive dip in quality from Tomy. I still think that Tomy's 5" Pokemon were probably the best combination of price, size, and articulation. They weren't all to scale, but they were still fun like Snorlax. Also the whole line felt coherent, like this 5" line was still a part of their scale 2" and 3" lines, unlike what the Selects of today feel like. I'm sure they're both great people, but I think what the Pokemon line most needs is a new brand manager who's more in tune with what Pokemon figure collectors want, and from there other changes like designers or even design styles would be implemented (because surely this current guy can do a better job at articulation than he's done, unless it really is TPCi being so strict about aesthetics).
>>10967801Taking feedback is a continuous process but I will give them props for making the Select line to begin with. The common complaint regarding the battle feature figures was that people wanted them to be bigger and would prefer regular articulation over the gimmicks, which we got with the Selects. I think the term "super articulated" is a bit misleading though. They're simply 6" figures with some articulation where it makes sense. The word "super" sets expectations higher. The one thing I have to call them out on is the Selects being non scaled. Like obviously it won't scale with the main line cause there's already 2 Charizards, Garchomps etc but at least scale with the Selects themselves. If their kids line is scale conscious why wouldn't their collector line be? Of course collectors would care about that too, its a no brainer.

>>10967058some fat chick sucking Cocks all day... it's a mystery the vulture-investors haven't moved on yet but i guess the best meat is right when it dies, right?
>>10967100Let's put this in perspective: let's say you're a (((guy))) at a retirement fund handling their shares portfolio. Hasbro is only less than a 10th of a percent of that portfolio. Why should I care what happens there? Not worth my time.Cocks knows this too.
>>10962946when did this happen? I don't follow the toy industry much but if i remember not too long ago it was Mattel that was doing really badly and people saying it wouldn't stay afloat while Hasbro was now investing in their media branch to start making shows and movies.
>>10967447Only because that retard Goldner couldn't get a job at a media company so he decided to twist a toy company into one. They didn't really invest either, as much as buy what they thought was a turnkey business after farming out stuff like Combiner Wars to the lowest bid ding Flash animator. Surprise, it failed and fell apart completely when he died.
>>10967447Mattel only "survived" because they lumped it full of money. They still lost money in Q1 2024
Been a while since we’ve had a thread, so a few things have come out. I just saw that Present Toys announced they’re doing a 1/6 RE5 Wesker yesterday and teased they’re gonna do a RE5 Chris as well. While the headsculpt could use some work, everything else looks good. The original Hot Toys RE5 Wesker has a better headsculpt but the outfit was pleather and that was so many years ago that I’m sure everyone’s has flaked by now.Anyone see any other announcements lately? Post your RE toys as well.

I’ve currently been using nicer bookshelves I received for free, but I feel like they’re not the best for figures. I’m curious what other anons use for their displays.>detolfsI know, but don’t they not sell them anymore?
>>10965293The instructions weren't very clear at points and they cheaped out on some of the less important materials which made it more time consuming than it would've been to build two detolfs. The finished product was worth the hassle, but I definitely wouldn't recommend building it alone, mainly for securing the two back glass pieces together. Maybe you could brace it against the wall, though, if you can get anyone else to help you, better to do that rather than risk something breaking.
>>10951359>>10966237Do the handles on the front bother you at all?
>>10966401I thought they'd bother me more when I first ordered it, but you kind of adapt to them and stop seeing them after a while. I prefer it to the other main alternative I was considering, the Milsbo, since that thick frame's more intrusive imo. Here's another pic with more standard lighting(again not mine, as mine is filled with statues) for anyone considering buying one. Home Depot actually has it for a great price right now. It was out of stock there at the time and I got mine from Lowes for about $100 more.

>>10964103Becky i got for $2 a few years back, its actually just teela/evil lyn aka any female but chyna. I saw rocky johnson in a 3 pack box set, a cody, and a ultimate roddy. The aew figures still contain a bunch of released guys and a nyla rose. And even with a reset the same old faithful superstars hang on. Which is kinda funny now when i look back at how excited i was to find papa shango way back on release.
>>10961733I had alot of the Hasbro (1990-1994) figures growing up but it's crazy to look at a checklist and see how many I missed. Distribution got really bad right around the wave with Rick Martel in his pink shorts (when he was "The Model"). The line basically dropped off a cliff. Ocasionally I'd see Kamala but that was about it so I moved on. One figure I was always mad I never found was the Mountie. I thought it was hilarious how he'd zap his opponents with that cattle prod.
>>10964450got the ring, roman, and seth at walmart yesterday. i'm normally a MOC collector, but i saw that the ring came with a breakable table and a bunch of weapons, and it made me decide to finally open something up for once and actually play with it lol. it's a lot of fun, and the headscans on the figures are actually really good
>>10964450Just saw these in person and they're cool. Ball joints at the shoulders and ball hips gives them some good play value.
Finally got around the assembling the fed. Some new shelf champs are soon to follow
Why don’t these get enough love in toy form? Everyone seems to love the original expanded universe, but they never make enough figures of them. Before the recent 4 pack in the Black Series line, hasbro has avoided making figures of the EU. What’s the deal? The fans will gladly pay for them. These power of the force 2 figures were great back in the day.

Genuinely asking, who buys cel-shaded and monochrome variants of these figures?I get it from a business standpoint, it's an easy way to get mold reuse out of a figure, but who is out there buying these in enough quantities to justify the mold reuse in the first place?
>>10957233This is because McFarlane actually thinks people are buying like 6 of every figure hoping they get a platinum
>>10953968It only took four attempts to ALMOST get it right. I brought this up in another thread, but I hope it's like a Siege situation where you can just take some alcohol and rub off that disgusting paint.
I prefer them when done right, which is rare.
>>10952211Not my thing, but the anime statues with cel shading to resemble the manga are pretty neat looking.>>10957233>or the platinum being AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT CHARACTER.Never going to forgive Todd for making Blackfire a Starfire platinum since that's a character he'll probably never make again.
>>10966070Todd is not making the decisions anymore at McFarlane Toys really. There was one interview where he could barely name a recently released figure and he admitted he had no idea the bare feet were in the 2 pack with his own action figure until it came out. Mattel guy runs everything now.
I recently found and bought a Summer Ibuki Douji Madhands Figure but my experience with resin figures is practically nothing. Can anyone give out some resources for these types of garage kits like where to buy joints, paints, etc or even stls of these joints. I'm just worried about messing up the figure.
>>10966100Nice? Camp out on yahoo auctions or suguraya for her? I was checking those two the day after the last wonfes when I was trying to find a mad hands UDK barghest

>>10966949Ya I got both on yahoo auctions it was a impulse buy one was around 400(ibuki) usd the other 475(barghest)
>>10966959Sweet find, when you get them in I suggest having copies made of the waterslide decals. I've had issues with the decals on the last two mad hands kits I've worked on. My st. louis had some misprinted decals that needed to be corrected in photoshop and barghests shirt decals basically fused to the sheet and would not separate from the backing. Your mileage may vary but it never hurts to have backups
>>10966959Also heres a shot from the manual of the joints you will need for barghest if you want to gather those materials before the kit comes in. Make sure to get the flesh in light flesh coloring and buy two sets of the joints for b. and f. I got mine from hobbylink japan since they sell batches every few weeks. The manual also states to buy some 2mm x 1mm neodymium magnets for the faces.
