if you love stats, weird numbers and counterintutive science, this is your general. Because one of the things with statistics is that nothing ever seems to be what it tries to show you on a first glance or glimpse. Doesn't matter if you are a seasoned professional, NEET or some disgruntled grad student. All are welcome.

Some people may not like it if you try to make them do your homework, others won't care and will just help you. Let's discuss theories together, ask questions and try to meme a little about this field.

in the previous thread we discussed why Julia has promise but is not delivering. How some people still use Matlab but hate it.

So, grab your favorite statistical software, dust off your textbooks, and join me in this exciting journey through the world of /psg/ - Probability and Statistics General! Let's embark on this adventure together and unravel the mysteries of data one statistical concept at a time.

Why do you need housekeepers in this day and age, with frozen food, microwave ovens, washing machines, dishwashers, and vacuum cleaners? I get a cleaning person every once in a while, because I'm lazy, but other than that I manage a large house by myself with close to zero of my time.

Cherry blossoms bloom in Tokyo, 15 days later than last year, 5 days later than average

https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2024/03/29/japan/society/cherry-blossoms-bloom-tokyo/

Cherry blossoms finally burst into bloom in Tokyo on Friday after heavy rain in the morning, marking the latest blooming in over a decade.
The declaration of the blooming made by the Meteorological Agency came 15 days later than last year and five days later than in an average year. Private forecasters had also expected this year's bloom to come much earlier.

Friday’s blooming is the latest in Tokyo since 2012, when cherry blossoms were declared to have blossomed on March 31, according to the agency.

Cherry blossom forecasting is big business in Japan. As early as in January, companies start to issue forecasts for when cherry blossoms will first bloom and reach their peak.

The weather agency, which began forecasting the annual bloom in 1955, sets a government standard for observing cherry blossom trees. For consistency, the meteorological agency only uses data gathered from the Somei-Yoshino variety, which produces pale pink blossoms.

Historically, Han is not always used as a racial concept but a cultural concept. If you were "civilized" by Han culture aka sinocized, you can claim yourself a Han. And no, they dont think there are different human subspecies either. Their country are to ethnically diverse to do that. Non-Han are considered savages, barbarians (aka cattles). They would force you to knowtow to them (which is reserved for worshipping ancestor) to acknowledge their superiority. If you refuse to submit, non-Han men will be castrated or killed and non-Han women raped and forced assimilation into Han culture. They were multi-ethnic imperialist yellow jews.

>we could see the concept of there being different human subspecies become widely accepted in science.

Not him but then they would have to change the categorization of other species too. The Common Cuckoo and the Hawaiian Happy Face Spiders both have races despite being classified as a single species.

That's part of why the whole human race to subspecies argument is bullshit. Because humans aren't the only organism with this type of layout despite what the spergs on this board say. More importantly if there was validity to this argument then why isn't there more outspokeness by entire countries outside the west? How the hell can countries be willing to be outspoken on territorial disputes, economic disputes, military disputes, population decline disputes that can affect the entire world openly but be silent as a church mouse concerning scientific human categorization?

If this was legit we would already see China pushing for it openly.

On Novermber 16, 1945 the UN declared the humanity was a single species and all UN member nations must abide by this declaration.
The UN made it's declaration with no scientific basis or even any debate of the facts, DNA hadn't even been discovered in 1945, so most of the facts available today weren't even available and yet the issue has never been revisited regardless all the new information which has come to light, and that on goes to reinforce how completely unscientific the idea of humanity as a single species is.

Its extremely retarded that citing a source that gets retracted doesn't have cascading effects on all the papers which cite the retracted source. It makes it all too clear that the people publishing those papers do not care even slightly about publishing accurate scientific papers

>struggle to diverge in their conformist thinking patterns.
Asians on average are cripplingly stupid. The vast majority are Chinese and Indian, which requires no additional substantiation. The Middle East can easily be written off too. South Asia is just beyond abhorrent and it's an embarrassment to the West that they even allowed outsourcing to make them rich. If there's anything that Westerners need to get rid of, it's the idea of using slave labor. They just end up making the slaves rich and now the slaves revolt on a geopolitical level.

When people tout intelligent Asians it's almost always East Asia, namely South Korea and Japan. They brute forced the grind and made it head and shoulders above the squalor that is the Asian gene pool. Did not fix the issues with collectivism though, they'd benefit a bit more if there were more self interest.
