Donald Trump’s acolytes gathered at Mar-a-Lago on Wednesday evening to celebrate the public listing of his social media firm, even as the company’s stock continued to crater. Under the Palm Beach sky, right-wing radio host Sebastian Gorka sucked on a cigar, actor Jon Voight posed for photos, and country singer turned Bible salesman Lee Greenwood belted his runaway hit “God Bless the USA.” At the end of the song, he and the former president saluted.

In a speech, Trump encouraged investors to keep calm. “We have over $200 million dollars in cash, which is very liquid,” he said, according to a reporter from Right Side Broadcasting Network in attendance.

On Trump’s social media site, Truth Social, the mood is less ebullient. “Man I really thought we were gonna see a jump today. Especially after that party last night. There is always tomorrow,” one user lamented on Thursday morning.

“Doesn’t it seem strange that the price goes down steadily every day? Haven’t seen a green day for a while,” wondered another.

Shares of Truth Social’s parent company, Trump Media and Technology Group, have fallen more than 50 percent since late March, as the company’s dire financial position has become more clear. Last year, it brought in just $4.1 million in revenue and posted a $58.2 million loss.

Even after tanking, however, the business is still worth more than $4 billion on paper—a number that defies normal valuation metrics. Trump loyalists have helped keep the stock afloat as a way to financially support him, though TMTG remains heavily shorted by investors who believe its shares will continue to fall.

On Truth Social, retail investors are encouraging each other to keep the faith. “When the whole world is set on ruining you with everything that they have got, it’s a good sign that you are likely on the right side of things,” one person wrote on Thursday.

Iran has launched retaliatory strikes against the occupied territories in response to the Israeli regime’s terrorist attack of April 1 against the consular section of the Islamic Republic’s Embassy in the Syrian capital of Damascus, reports say.

The strikes were launched on Saturday night, with some reports saying that the Islamic Republic launched a number of attack drones towards the occupied territories.

Iran has not officially acknowledged retaliatory strikes yet.

Reuters news agency reported that the Islamic Republic has not yet launched missiles in its retaliatory military action against the occupying regime, adding that there is likelihood of it targeting the occupied city of Haifa and the occupied territories’ coastline with “ballistic missiles” in the coming hours.

Israel’s Channel 12 confirmed that the regime had been attacked, claiming that Iran launched tens of drones towards the occupied territories.

A mother who was among six victims killed in the knife attack at a Sydney shopping centre has been named.

Ash Good died in hospital from her injuries following the Saturday morning attack in the Australian city. Four other women and one man were also killed while another eight people remain in hospital including the 38 year-old Ms Good’s baby daughter.

The attacker, believed to be a 40-year-old male known to authorities, was shot dead by a police inspector.
A shocking video has shown the suspect armed with a large knife, while shoppers take cover in shops as one brave individual attempts to ward him off on an escalator.

One eyewitness reported seeing Ms Good’s baby with stab wounds, with the “terrified” mother attempting to console her child as they were taken to an ambulance.

Other witnesses reported hearing gunshots as they hid inside stores, with one saying of the attacker: “He had a nice big blade on him. He looked like he was on a killing spree.”

PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona was already expected to be one of the most closely contested states in November’s U.S. presidential election. But a ruling this week instituting a near-total abortion ban supercharged the state’s role, transforming it into perhaps the nation’s most critical battleground.

This Sunbelt state with a fierce independent streak has long been at the forefront of the nation’s immigration debate due to its 378-mile border with Mexico and its large Hispanic and immigrant populations. It now moves to the center of the national debate over reproductive rights after the U.S. Supreme Court ended a federally guaranteed right to abortion.

Abortion and immigration have been two of this year’s biggest political issues. No battleground state has been affected more directly by both than Arizona.

“Do not underestimate this,” Democratic pollster John Anzalone, who polls for President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign, said of the Arizona abortion ruling. “It’s dynamic-changing.”

Biden and presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump are expected to fight hard to win Arizona after Biden carried the state four years ago by less than 11,000 votes.

In addition to the presidency, the U.S. Senate majority may be decided by the state’s high-profile contest between Republican Kari Lake and Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego in the race to replace retiring Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, an independent who caucuses with Democrats.

The state Supreme Court’s ruling reviving an abortion ban passed in 1864 also added rocket fuel to Democrats’ push to add a question to the November ballot asking voters to approve a constitutional amendment protecting the right to abortion until viability, when a fetus could survive outside the womb. Later abortions would be allowed to save the woman’s life or protect her physical or mental health.

Comedian Bill Maher said Friday on “Real Time with Bill Maher” he is “okay” with abortion even though some consider it to be “murder.”

Maher told guests Gillian Tett, a British author and journalist, Piers Morgan and his audience that people who are pro-life are “kind of” right that abortion is “murder,” before highlighting the reason why he is “okay” with that.

"None of you believe it’s murder. You know, that’s why I don’t understand the 15-week thing. Or the — Trump’s plan is, ‘Let’s leave it to the states.’ You mean, so killing babies is okay in some states?” Maher asked.

“Like, I can respect the absolutist position. I really can,” he continued. “I scold the left on when they say, ‘Oh, you know what, they just hate women, people who aren’t pro-life. They, the pro-choice, they don’t hate women. They just made that up. They think it’s murder. And it kind of is. I’m just okay with that. I am. I, I mean, there’s eight billion people in the world. I’m sorry, we won’t miss you. That’s my position on that.”

The former president previously criticized members of the GOP for “poorly” handling the abortion issue during the 2022 midterm elections on Truth Social in January 2023. Trump said the losses suffered by various Republican candidates “wasn’t my fault.”

Hunter Biden just faced a "devastating take-down" in court regarding his federal gun case, attorney Jonathan Turley said on Saturday.

Hunter Biden is facing three federal gun charges in Delaware, all of which he has pleaded not guilty to. The charges relate to the president's son lying about his drug use on a federal form to purchase a handgun in October 2018.

On Friday, U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika rejected several motions filed by Hunter Biden's lawyers in an effort to throw out the gun charges against their client—one of the claims being that the president's son was being subjected to selective prosecution.

"These charges are the result of political pressure from President Trump and his MAGA allies," said a democrat out of pure cope, successfully parroting the democrat talking point.

Department of Justice's (DOJ) special counsel David Weiss, who is prosecuting the case against Hunter Biden, noted in a recent filing that other defendants did not write "a memoir in which they made countless statements proving their crimes and drawing further attention to their criminal conduct."

A federal judge in Delaware refused Friday to throw out a federal gun case against Hunter Biden, rejecting the president's son's claim that he is being prosecuted for political purposes as well as other arguments.

U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika denied defense efforts to scuttle the prosecution charging Hunter Biden with lying about his drug use in October 2018 on a form to buy a gun that he kept for about 11 days.

Hunter Biden's lawyers had argued the case was politically motivated and asserted that an immunity provision from an original plea deal that fell apart still holds. They had also challenged the appointment of special counsel David Weiss, the U.S. attorney in Delaware, to lead the prosecution.

The trial is tentatively scheduled to begin in early June.

Noreika, who was appointed to the bench by former President Donald Trump, has not yet ruled on a challenge to the constitutionality of the gun charges.

Hunter Biden faces separate tax counts in Los Angeles alleging he failed to pay at least $1.4 million in taxes over three years while living an "extravagant lifestyle," during his days of using drugs. The judge overseeing that case refused to dismiss the charges earlier this month.

On Jan. 6, 2021, Joseph Fischer allegedly entered the U.S. Capitol, along with more than 2,000 others, in the effort to stop the counting of the electoral votes that was already underway.

Fischer wasn’t there in his official capacity as a police officer with the North Cornwall Township Police Department in Pennsylvania. He was there to, per text messages he sent that were later cited in a filing by Department of Justice lawyers, “take democratic congress to the gallows.”

“Can’t vote if they can’t breathe..lol,” Fischer allegedly wrote in another text message about his plans before Jan. 6.

Fischer, per federal charging documents, pushed his way into the building with yells of “Charge!” Once inside, he crashed into a line of police officers, according to a cell phone video he recorded. Fischer and at least one police officer were knocked to the ground. Police removed him four minutes later.

Later identified by one of his coworkers, Fischer was arrested by federal officers on Feb. 19, 2021. He was charged with multiple felonies, but has still yet to go to trial. That’s because he’s appealed one of his charges all the way to the Supreme Court, which will hear arguments on April 16.

At issue is a law that makes it a felony if someone “corruptly … obstructs, influences, or impedes any official proceeding, or attempts to do so.” This law — known as 18 U.S.C. 1512(c) — was enacted as part of the accounting reform law passed in 2002, in the wake of the Enron and Arthur Andersen scandals. Federal prosecutors have used it to charge 330 people who were involved in the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, including Fischer — and former President Donald Trump.

The first lady’s speech at the Sheraton Pentagon City in Arlington, Virginia, comes just after the launch of the Biden campaign’s “Out for Biden-Harris” initiative to engage LGBT voters.

“We’ve made progress, but there’s still so much more to do,” Jill Biden told the crowd of more than 500. “And we can’t and we won’t go back and refight the fights of the past.”

Those battles, she added, include rights being taken away, freedoms eroding, and state laws that target the LGBT community.

“Just last month, we had to fend off more than 50 anti-gay amendments that Republicans tried to force into the government funding bill,” she said, explaining that the amendments would have limited healthcare and other protections for same-sex couples.
