I proclaim that Publix has the best. I like the sour dough there, superior to Lidl, Whole Foods, Cotsco or anywhere else I've been. Their employees on the internet have confirmed that the simple loafs (pretty obvious which ones those are when you go there) are indeed actually made from scratch that day, which is not common for a grocery store bakery, most are made off site 'half baked' and the people on site simply throw it into the oven. I'm not even talking just about the USA, this is how it works in the vast majority of grocery stores and "bread shops" in western Europe as well.
