I like 19th century British guns. In my opinion it's one of the most interesting periods of firearms development because it was able to take advantage of both industrialization and old-school craftsmanship and there was plenty of money to fuel R&D. There were a lot of really interesting designs that came out back then while people were still experimenting with what worked and what didn't.

The only part of the body that suit doesnt cover are the botton of the feet.In the end, a last minute change on the tournament rules meant that this suit wouldnt be allowed to be used so the the third suit of armor had to be hastly assembled to be used by Henry VIII.
In a touch of irony for all the weird leather armor vs gambeson dichotomy pushed by leather armor deniers still out there, we have more extant leather armor and shields from europe than we have extant gambesons from the middle ages, which to my knowledge there are zero (0). We have a few jupons and other things that may go over armor, or things that go under armor but neither seems to provide much defence if used on their own.
