>Hi there, can I see your Angel's Landing National Parks hiking permit please?
>Oh, you don't have a permit?
>That'll be $200 + tip
>Good luck on the permit lottery tomorrow!

Fugg dis Recreation.gov permit shit. I'm gonna be there mid-May and if I don't get a permit I'll just stop at Scout's Landing.

Same with Yo-Semite. I have to get a fucking permit just to drive thru now? I'm planning that as part of my mid-May roadtrip too and I have to apply 1 week before. If I don't get it I have to change all my plans, including booked hotels.

This shit is retarded. Not everyone can plan National Parks trips 1 year in advance with all these advance limited permits and far-out reservations for hotels/accommodations.

Then some storm comes through and the park doesn't open as planned a year later, etc.

Fuck the NPS

I bet she's got a great ass

Edward Abbey was right. Want to fix this problem?

Ban all cars in the parks. Tear up the visitor centers and paved paths.
>>
add way more parking, add way more paved paths, end the permit system entirely

You already made this thread though? Why are there two of these in the catalogue right now?

Every board needs a schizo. Just be grateful this one is relatively tame in comparison.

This wouldn't be the worst. Channel Islands and North Cascades are car free and the difference between them and the others is night and day.
Imagining carless Yosemite and Arches makes me fucking cum.

I should read Desert Solitaire again. It's been a while, but was a very comfy read. We should try and provide some means for the sick, disabled, and elderly to see some nature though. Some people get dealt a bad hand in life but should still get to see some wilderness if they so choose.
