What went so wrong?
>>22612989unconventional designs that were used in a story that would have felt like outdated low quality fanfiction 20 years ago
>>22612989>>22612990They should just recycle these to make more ECOPLA available.
>>22612990>>Bunyip BoomerangThose fucking racist Japs.
>>22612989Bootleg Code Geass
>>22612989Careful anon, hating Kyoukai Senki is not allowed on /m/
I'm still mad the plamo line bombed so bad so the Chinese and Russian grunt mechs never got any kits.
>>22612989The plot and characters were bad.
>>226130224chan hates everything.
>>22613323Tomino should call out Bandai for this environment waste.
>>22612989One season, no continues.
Gay little cartoon animals
They should've made a 30MM anime instead.
>Piles of unsold plamoThis is pretty much a throwback to twenty years ago of SEED Destiny plamo piling uphttps://web.archive.org/web/20181006193932/http://www.geocities.jp/bachaos50/index.html
>>22613586The difference is most of those were NGs that sold for like 300 yen at the checkout at grocery stores. These are HGs and FMs, and the kits are really large too. The HG Mailes Kenbu is like the size of the HGUC Sazabi
>>22613022What do you mean? I hate on Kyoukai Senki all the time because it makes your dick smaller.
>>22612989Anime was unbelievably uninteresting
Really cool mecha design, but the show itself was just the most bog standard military mecha show that rehashed a lot of very tired plotlines. The episode with the elderly couple early on especially is a plot I've seen done a dozen times over.
Someone post the one where the main three are kaiju sized. And why don't Kei and Nayuta have their own drawings? Fucking Lou got one for herself.
>>22613612Is this yours?
>>22614279Nope.https://twitter.com/kyoukaisenkin/status/1786318219869098456
>>22614283Damn, that's mega cute.
>>22612989It was a normie filter and a return to form. I thought it was awesome despite the simplicity. I swear you guys had too high of standards. More action in the second half woulda helped it though.
i feel really stupid for buying a kenbu zan at msrp
Forced mecha show with forced mecha tropes forced by bean counters at Bandai
Forced discussion in a forced thread
>>22614310Hardy taco! Bellzathornio! Oil olives go volcanic coat hanger in me stockings this Halloween. Yargh no charging a hill backwards! Now that's a forced discussion.
>>22612990>giant stacks of kits on sale>0 jo houndsit's not fair.
>>22613335Another series fell into the "anime first, game later" trap. Any series falling on this kind of trap is doomed to fail.
>>22614305But it was fun.
>>22614870Oh hey I finally got the joke here. Amaim kits can't sell!
>>22614876The plushies sold out pretty fast so an audience is out there and according to Japanese Twitter little kids liked it. That does remind me, what is the update with that one anon that got an AMAIM Blu-ray set for his nephew this past Christmas?
>>22614886They need to rename it too Babby's First Real Robot. And autocorrect needs to stop spelling Baby correctly, I put a third B in there as a joke damnit.
Was that second season any good?
>>22614890Weaker villains and less action, but the birthday episode was heart filled.
>>22614502That one was understandable because the game is a prequel and that the anime worked to help introduce people to the franchise as a whole. As I understand it, "anime first, game later" is where the game is a sequel to the anime.
I like the angular look of the mechs, but they're just so similar. I built the HG Byakuchi and Jo Hound and have no desire to touch the rest of the line.
>>22614890No.
>>22614502Toji no Miko was going strong for three years, but squeenix doesn't like their customers having nice things.
>>22612989Kits are retardedly overpriced because of "anime tax", with engineering that isn't nearly impressive for requiring RG-MG tier price points for effectively slightly bigger than most smaller HG kits while having the exact same level of complexity and engineering. They also aren't compatible without modification of some kind, and their aesthetics clash horribly with the vast majority of other designs and kits you would think nips would be happy to kitbash and make wild ass customs with. Then the fact the anime is fucking awful, they somehow thought Shion would sell their fucking Figure-Rise stock, and the series is not nearly as popular as Bandai expected it to be.
I dunno, but it doesn't look like it went as wrong as the Phantom Pain did where the kits got so cheap people could buy 20 and fuck around like this.
>>22617014>slightly bigger than most smaller HG kits while having the exact same level of complexity and engineeringHuh? They're huge. They're the size of 22m HGs or late UC MGs. This isn't even one of the really big ones. The HG Ghost is literally the size of a normal MG and the new HG Mailes Protogoyo is almost as tall as the Ghost
>>22612989Hell yeah can't wait for one of those to be sold 2 bucks on HSJ again
>>22612989Nothing.
>>22616956Man, I wish there was more toji.>>22613335Id pick them up for that price honestly. Show was alright.
>>22612989The show failed to be engaging. First episode doesn't make the occupation of Japan look brutal enough to warrant a terrorist campaign. Second episode has the protagonist stealing military hardware and stay at grandma's house, and the worst thing the occupiers try to do is arrest the kid. Third episode bullets actually start flying but then the protagonist gets easily bailed out by another teenager with a gundam, and then they two get bailed out by a cute girl with a gundam, who decided to join a terrorist group because someone demolished her grandpa's little kiln. Except the terrorists don't actually do any terrorism like bombing offices or fighting a grueling war in the mountains or starving in caves for their beliefs, but instead do Boy Scout service projects where they rennovate villages. There is just no tension to keep people turning the page to find out what happens next.Contrast that with almost every other Sunrise mecha show. 0079, Zeta, Wing, SEED, Dragonar, Escaflowne, etc, start off with the powerful bad guys attacking and killing innocents. The hero is called to arms to defend against this menace, and they are the underdogs and you want to see how they prevail. 00 starts with the intriguing hook of the protagonist's absurd declaration to be against all war (which will be achieved by conducting war on the warmongers) and the rest of the world turning against them, so you wanted to see what crazy stuff would happen next.
>>22621251I feel like what happened is that they were not sure about the demographic of the show. It's too "violent" to be for little kids, but it's also too tame.
>>22612989didn't watch the show but there's a lot of shit designs in that show and the MC's mech is by far the worst.whoever greenlighted that design should be shot in the streets
>>22625065Why bump this thread from page 10 instead of letting it die?
>>22625065It's the G40 designer. Kill him if you must, this is try number 3 from Bandai Spirits for a fresh mecha series funded by them, and it blew up in flames, just like Darling in the Franxx and Back Arrow.
>>22625073It was Okuyama's protege.
>>22613681What? When does this happen? (Never watched the show)
>>22625985That anon is referencing fan art from the /a/ drawthreads. Here's the pic in question.Captcha: 4884
>>22626054What, is there a Gremlins parody with these guys too.
>>22625073> Darling in the FranxxThe FranXX mecha kits sold perfectly well.
>>22626083Ghostbusters actually.
>>22614311Why do you post this word diarrhea, Duel? Also, don't you get that people are sick and tired of you spamming those stupid pictures of yours all the time, to the point where you know you've been banned for spam multiple fucking times already?
Boring as shit. The main characters didn't accomplish anything. It was all according to Meme Man's keikaku.
>>22626601Didn't the shf and rd shelfwarm like Back Arrow?
The mechs are ugly because of the chicken legs, simple as.The quality of the show is irrelevant, a good show may help but a one shouldn't impact plamo sales as long as the design themselves are cool. Many people frequently buy figs, toys, etc., from franchises they don't know as long as the designs are cool.
>>22626764The initial line designed by Okuyama was a financial failure. However the current line by Ebikawa and Yanase is selling really well. I guess everything needs some Gundam flavour in them in order to sell.
>>22626718Yes and no. They didn't make Murica levels of production and didn't market the figarts to Murica. So they did eventually sell once Murica figured out they existed and bought them up via eBay. So in the end, they did sell.
